While I know that parents have an enormous influence to empower their children to be able to think for themselves I always think of this, from Mr. Philip K. Dick, when I think about advertisement and the such:

"The power of spurious realities battering at us today—these deliberately manufactured fakes never penetrate to the heart of true human beings. I watch the children watching TV and at first I am afraid of what they are being taught, and then I realize, They can't be corrupted or destroyed. They watch, they listen, they understand, and, then, where and when it is necessary, they reject. There is something enormously powerful in a child's ability to withstand the fraudulent. A child has the clearest eye, the steadiest hand. The hucksters, the promoters, are appealing for the allegiance of these small people in vain. Watched it once, never to return-One of those once is enough flicks....Don't dig that 'window into slow demise' kinna flick(didn't LLV kinna put him on the map....Best Actor)?

He takes on roles as cage playing cage-I place him in the Keanu Reeves category of hactors as in, where are they now?
But you really can say that about any A-lister from the 80's-90's, Hollywoods' drying up on her corner and vine-Cage got roles and was handed prominence because of the Godfather, FFC.

Brian Cranstons' got more talent in his little finger, and he's done how many feature films???

Liked 'Next', but because of Jessica Beale and Julianne Moore, plus.....Philip K Dick story-and I'm about the PhilDick.

I really hope this doesn't suck. The thing about Philip K. Dick's writing is that it's smart. He asks big and interesting questions and presents them in exciting but though-provoking scenarios. Most adaptations of his work have been straight-up action flicks, which are usually terrible. The Schwarzenegger version was actually one of the better ones, but the big questions are overshadowed by the fact that it's an Arnold movie, with all that entails.

The gold standard is still Blade Runner, and that's the stick by which I'll be measuring this film.

Like I said, I hope it doesn't suck.

Equilibrium (it's based upon a Philip K. Dick book, I think), is sort of fun - but not really the hight of cinema. Theres a clip of it somewhere on the sift, I'm sure...

Have you seen Stalker, or Solaris?
Thers also a strange Polish/Japanese movie that's Tarkovsy-ish - Avalon, about videogames in the future.
(I myself am not actually a Tarkovsky fan)
