By far, dcfc is one of my favorite bands of all time....gibbards lyrics are profound and beautiful, while remaining accessible....but this particular song encapsulates the darkest period of my life....'narrow stairs' had just been released, and was all I listened to...and it's such a dark album that seemed to give words to the horrible despair I felt towards being in the most awful relationship imaginable.....hearing this just now took me back there.....quickly followed by an immense feeling of gratitude that I'm no longer in that place.....upvote...
