Greetings from the other side of the planet! One of my countrymen has posted a video showing all the birds which make recording videos impossible at 5pm, and I thought you'd be interested: https://videosift.com/video/Why-Angus-cant-record-at-5pm-Australian-Birds
We have all the same birds here, along with Australian magpies and whole lot of other species The ones shown are some of the loudest though.

Magpie pretending to be a bat
That's an Australian magpie, Cracticus tibicen, and Danielle's from here too so *downunder
Magpie pretending to be a bat
Magpies are brilliant. My in-laws have a lot of them around, and quite often have a 'pet' one who has fallen out of a nest and needs help.
After a time they always rejoin a wild group, but while they are young they're hilarious.
They'll troll cats constantly, chase a big (crybaby) German shepherd around the house trying to pull his tail, and most of them are happy to accompany my dad-in-law to the pub for free chips and beer.
Magpie pretending to be a bat
To me that looks like the other magpie is curious about what on earth the batpie is doing rather than begging to play.
Wild magpie enjoys a belly rub!

Psycho Magpie Attacks Cyclist
It's not that uncommon to see cyclists with zip ties sticking up from their helmets during Magpie season, to try and deter them

Smart. Magpies are pretty clever too, and I think their plumage is more tuxedo-esque.

Woman pulls porcupine quills from raven's face
Their size is reminiscent of magpies or giant woodpeckers, it's a big-ass bird!
Never realized how big a raven is -- much more used to the local crows around here.
Chubby Wombat wants to play!
The distant sound of magpies makes me homesick for country Australia. The suburbs suck
Crow Becomes Part of the Family
Smart bird. Ravens are pretty smart too, and Magpies passed the mirror test which is pretty odd really when you consider that the only other animals to pass it are apes, dolphins, killer whales and elephants.
Anyway, I'm jealous of their pet crow. I'm gonna start keeping my eye open for possible rescues
