Controversy Over Girls Doing Beyonce Dance (Video)
No LOL I'm from Texas. Besides that I'm really not very religious and I'm not saying dancing is proven to be provocative just my own opinion for why we do it. It's been around since life began in my observation so how did it start? Well even animals dance right? Why do they do it? Because spring has hit and its time to procreate. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with dancing at all its just a courtship ritual in the primitive form. I love the old Lindie Hop myself some dancing is more provocative than others. Why must they be doing a dance thats a directly mimics sex? Also girls are objectified anyway in life why make it worse? Or start it at such an early age. I don't know maybe I'm backwards on this subject but thats the way I look at it. Oh and I'm not 70 either I'm 30.

You are from Salt Lake City, I presume?

Dancing is provocative to begin with, the whole point of dancing is to attract the opposite sex.
Best First Dance EVER!
Much, much respect for the length of it, since most couples usually last only 1-2 minutes (my wedding was no exception), and even more so because swing is a lot more physically taxing than your usual wedding waltz. Very very nice![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/smile.gif)

Wow. That clip seemed so obscure, I didn't even search for it before posting. Nice find.

Jordan and Tatiana - pretty badass West Coast Swing
choggie: I don't know too many WCS dancers. You'd think all the swing people would know one another, but lindy hop and WCS are different circles with a little overlap but less than you'd think.
I'd go out to more WCS dances if they're just stop playing Nightclub two-step songs. Those are the freaking bane of my existence, and around here, there's a 1:4 NC2:WCS song ratio. For whatever reason, WCS dances also tend to include NC2 and Hustle (remember that?)
What's NC2? Here's one for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REWxW2HcGHI
There are more effeminate dances out there, but NC2's at the bottom of the swing barrel.
Anyway, back to these guys. WCS isn't my dance, but I respect if from afar. When it's bad, you can go blind from sequin-overload or deaf from shitty music but when it's good, it kicks ass.
Hellzapoppin' lindy hop
Youtube comments:
From Hellzapoppin' (1941), the hilarious Hollywood production directed by H.C. Pootter and starring zany commdians Ole Olsen and Chic Johnson, this clip features Rex Stewart (co), Jap Jones (tb), Elemer Fane (cl), unknown (ts), Slim Galliard (p,g,tap-dancing), Slam Stewart (b), Cee Pee Johnson (d), The Harlem Congaroos (dancers, AKA Whitey's Lindyhoppers).

"This movie, based on a hit Broadway play, showcases Whitey's Lindy Hoppers dancing the most famous and most spectacular Lindy Hop scene ever preserved on film. The dancing was choreographed by Frankie Manning.
"The scene starts when musicians Slim Galliard and Slam Stewart, in workmen's garb, discover some musical instruments while supposedly delivering a package backstage. They play a few tentative notes, and a spontaneous, swinging jam starts cooking . More backstage 'workers' join the jam, including Rex Stuart on trumpet and C.C. Johnson on the 'bongo drums'. The music builds in excitement until, as if out of nowhere, four Lindy Hopping couples, dressed in overalls and uniforms, swing out into the cameras at a frenetic tempo. Each couple executes amazing acrobatic shines. Then the group unites for precision ensemble work filmed at an angle that emphasizes legwork and speed.
"The choreography and the dancing are as near to perfect Lindy Hop as you can see anywhere! The scene will take your breath away no matter how many times you see it. It is no wonder that this film was responsible for the simultaneous revival of Lindy Hop in Sweden and Britain in the 1980's.
"An interesting sidenote: Whitey's Lindy Hoppers' routine in Hellzapoppin' was originally danced and choreographed to different music, namely 'Jumping at the Woodside'. Universal Studios had a composer who was on staff write new music for the routine."
