Panspermia - early 3D animation
This footage was used in "seeds of life" (?) along to a Jan Hammer track that I used to love listening to.
I blame this video for getting me into 3d art as a kid, actually. Squarely.
Computer Animation WAY Ahead of it's Time (Back in 1993)
The name of this video is "Panspermia", it was presented at SIGGRAPH in 1990 and did NOT feature music by Jan Hammer. It was created by Karl Sims and Thinging Machines Corporation. It was rendered on their Connection Machine, a massively parallel supercomputer featuring 64000+ processors. The original video is available on Archive.org.
