Yes, it's true. Feist, Michael Stipe, Tyra Banks, The Backstreet Boys, Jack Black, James Blunt, Tim Robbins, Noah Wyle, Blair Underwood and about one hundred other celebrities were all only on Sesame Street to honor a court order. I mean, it's a rumor you heard, it MUST be true!

Al doesn't have to get permission to "parody" a song but it's his own policy to get the "artists" permission and James Blunt gave him permission. Only after recording it and preparing to release it as one of the tracks on his last CD did Blunt's label (Atlantic Records) tell him that "they" did not want it released. To avoid any legal issues it was dropped from the CD but made available as a free download.
