Church Group Prays to God to Lower Gas Prices!

swampgirl says...

^ true, Rotty... We live just out of range of the Indianapolis bus system. I hate it too cause I'd love to use the bus w/ the kids when we're treking downtown for the day. The city here is talking about a commuter train now. Personally I don't think it will work because the population isn't centralized enough.

We might get gas down a little bit in the future...but we'll never see a buck fifty again. I got it for around a dollar when I first got my license. 10 bucks would last me almost a week! Man THOSE were the days

Why Being a Reporter Hurts - A Compilation

Al Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize

qruel says...

of interest

Over the course of the last year, George W. Bush has offered his personal congratulations to the 2007 Presidential Scholars, the Super Bowl-winning Indianapolis Colts, the 2007 Scripps Spelling Bee champion, the owner of the World Series-winning St. Louis Cardinals, the NBA champion Miami Heat, the Stanley Cup-winning Carolina Hurricanes and the NCAA champions from 21 universities.

So, a reporter asked deputy White House press secretary Tony Fratto today, will the president be calling Al Gore to congratulate him for winning the Nobel Peace Prize? Fratto's response: "I don't know of any plans to make calls to any of the winners at this point."

Iraq War Causing Ammo Shortage for Police in US

BillOreilly says...

1. 9mm is crap, I'm glad they're running out.

2. Crime in Milwaukee and Indianapolis? I'm shocked! Such nice places to raise a family!

3. What do the liberals do about this? They cry when police use "excessive" force (ie shoot a criminal), but they also need someone to call when their house gets robbed. Quite the conundrum...

HOGZILLA

swampgirl says...

Don't you love the shot where you can see his trailer, camper and confederate flag in the back? Almost looks staged. Folks like these do exist.

Which reminds me... SWAMPY IS LEAVING THE SOUTH!!! We got the call this weekend, WEEEEEE!!!!!!! Anyone live near Indianapolis?

RCA SelectaVision: How VideoDiscs & Players Are Made (1983)

benjee says...

An interesting video (obviously) on the manufacture of Laserdiscs & players back in the early 1980's - from the Google Video user:

This is a 23-minute tour of RCA's SelectaVision CED VideoDisc manufacturing facility on Rockvillie Road in Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as a tour of the CED player manufacturing plant in Bloomington, Indiana. The movie dates to 1983, a time when the J line CED players like the SJT200 were the current production units.
