Krav Maga gun disarm from Human Weapon
>> ^NordlichReiter:
Most people are trained to have the finger on the rail, and not the trigger.
But, in most cases all they have to do is get off the line of fire. This is Kotegaeshi, its been around since samurai and ninja.
Oh, I forgot that they had 9mm pistols in Feudal Japan.

I always wondered in these demonstrations how the gun going off would change the set up. Grabbing the wrist and/or gun will probably make the finger press against the trigger. The recoil of the gun could screw up how smooth this disarm works. Or what if when you grab and twist the gun wouldnt the reload of the gun going off pinch the hell out of your hand as the next bullet goes into the chamber?
I would not point a gun at this guy

To all of you^ who are saying something about what the "bad guy" is doing wrong: No one ever said criminals were smart.
Let's talk about what the "expert" is doing wrong then. The most important step about a close range gun disarm is to remove yourself from the line of fire. He stands with shoulders squared throughout most of the disarms.
He also moves his hands very slowly toward the gun and then makes a snap-movement. If someone is holding me at gunpoint, I wouldn't bet on them waiting to see what I was going to do as I gradually moved my arms into position to grab the gun.
Here's a better technique. http://www.videosift.com/video/Krav-Maga-gun-disarm-from-Human-Weapon
Human Weapons - Judo
I'm normally against martial arts documentaries, especially a documentary with a name like "Human Weapon", but this was actually pretty decent. Interestingly enough, the co-host who played the match was Jason Chambers, a guy with a 16-5 record in MMA who trains BJJ under Eddie Bravo (*insert weed joke here*). From what I understand, he's actually a brown (maybe black now?) in BJJ, thus the thinly-disguised butt-flopping and decent sub attacks, almost getting that triangle. Looks like Chambers needs a lot of help on his standup, though...he was getting tooled.
Oh, and for anybody who doesn't know anything about judo: he lost 3 times. When the guy gets thrown on his back for ippon, that's a winning point and the end of the match. Chambers got ipponed 3 times.
