Car Roof Mounted Remote Control Shotguns!

Mk 110 - The U.S. Navys most advanced gun

Raigen says...

Well excuse us for being so beneath your mighty solutions to world problems. Perhaps when you live in an ideal world your ideal wishes will be granted.

Interplanetary/Interstellar travel for exploration, new discoveries, new knowledge, and, oh, I don't know, an alternative place for our species to live. We could face the future facts and understand if we continue to breed as we do, and consume resources as we do, we won't last all that long on this rock. And before someone gets wise and says "oh so then we can just go and ravage another world", no that's not what I'm suggesting either.

I fail to see how building yet another efficient device at murdering people "helps" our planet, or our species.

And wait a second! You also must be a poor, delusional low-brow, because you're you've obviously just watched this.

That I did, however I didn't giggle with delight at the idea of that weapon being used in any manner whatsoever. Be it in a time of war, or even a demonstration. Nor did I think about how "cool" it was, etc. I merely find such instruments to be completely unnecessary. If anyone sees a reason for such a thing to exist, I'd love a detailed explanation as to why. Same sort of explanation would be nice for the existence of something like this. Also; the reason "to defend our country/people/way of life" reasons I don't quite accept as legitimate. There's more than enough horrific weapons to do such things.

Just imagining someone being hit by such devices makes me cringe and doubt the longevity of the human race that much more.

Then again, you could say these are the deluded opinions of a humanist that likes the imaginary idea of peace, so you could just go ahead and cast them aside.

Weapons of US soldiers in Iraq 'plagued with problems'

MarineGunrock says...

I will agree that the M16 does jam more often than comfortable, and is temperamental. But what gets me is why this piece keeps talking about the M4, but keeps showing the A4, as in the M16A4.
Secondly, they keep talking about shooting on full-auto, but as far as I know, the M16 and the M16A3 are the only ones to shoot on automatic. The M16A2 (which is being phased out of service), the M16A4, and the M4 all shoot on either semi or three round burst.

Would I rather shoot with a AK or an M16? Depends. The M16A4 and A2 can both have an effective range (shot hits where rifle is pointed) at about 550 yards. The max. effective range on the AK is only 300 yards.

Yes, the AK doesn't jam as much. Yes, the M16 has a better range. But that's the thing with rifles: you can't have a winner in all categories. At least that's what I thought - I saw a clip of FutureWeapons that showcased a new Heckler & Koch that is supposedly as un-jammable as the AK, yet accurate like the M16.
Only time will tell.

little green laser pops a bunch of balloons

NordlichReiter says...

Alright! These lasers were first developed as a non leathal means to subduing hostage takers, or violent criminals! Future weapons did a peice on these green lasers, and it was surprisingly effective, the guy pointed that thing in the general vecinity of the bad guy, and that guy fell on the ground, and was later reported to have an attack of the vomits. Not to mention the hostage was also hit with the laser... but shes still alive. THis however was all for show on the futureweapons.

Intense little laser eh? Brings new meaning to "You could put your eye out with that."
