i'm only upvoting for elliott's original version. garneau just doesn't cut if for me on this one, even though he sounds like St. Vincent when he sings in falsetto (which i actually think is kinda creepy)

thanks, the only version I'd seen before was a terrible VHS copy. extra credit for spelling his name correctly. or at least the name we call him with.

He's a favorite of mine as well, it was pretty sad to hear about his death but not really surprising given the nature of his songs sometimes.

If (I'm not in favour of putting two words together and, tadaa, a new concept) there's "macho politics" there is "macha politics" as well, of which Liz Elliott does not (explicitly) speak. I know "macho" is most common, but ends with a masculine -o.

There is nothing obscure about Elliott Smith. He was one of the best songwriters to ever have lived. Rest in Peace.
