Fix Your Posture with This Animated Guide to Sitting Right

CreamK says...

Our school got these nice "ergonomic" chairs.. Man they are awful, there's no lock, there's a spring and in order to stay in good posture, you have to simultaneously keep your self up, lean on your elbows and push back.. When you lean forward the back support follows you and pushes slowly you to the edge of your seat and when you lean back it's like you got nothing there and the whole thing feels like it's gonne capsize. It's simultaneously too stiff and too soft. It takes about 2 hours and i get back cramps.. And they claim they are super healthy as you can't relax.. If i ever meet the guy who designed those, i'm gonna kick him in the nuts. I'll take my gaming chair anyday..

Psycho Suite -- performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra

probie says...

It really is too bad that Psycho has been ruined by its own sheer brilliance. If you could somehow erase the knowledge of Norman Bates, Mother, etc, from a viewers mind before watching it, it is truly one of those "WTF just happened???" edge-of-your-seat astonishing moments in cinema history.

Do I assume this has spoilers? I haven't seen the movie yet.

Damn.

Ant,

Take all of this with a grain of salt. Coming out of the theater I didn't think it was the "fantastic" movie the hype made it out to be. But, I did think it was a good movie. It was entertaining and the cinematography was brilliant. I felt they did an excellent job of using their CGI budget to immerse you in their world, thus drawing you into the film.

The part about the stupidity of the crew and their actions are all true. Characters do things that make you face-palm... But hey, what Sci-fi movie doesn't have those characters? If everyone behaved exactly how you would expect them to, films would be extremely boring.

I actually believe to a certain extent this is done on purpose. Every time a crew member would do something like stick his face close to something that looks like it could pop makes you think, "No, no, no.... why? oh god what's going to happen!? YOU ARE STUPID!" Sometimes something happens, other times it does not. It builds suspense in the movie. The fact that you know the actions of a character will probably have negative consequences puts you on the edge of your seat. If instead of touching the "alien goo" they said, "Hey lets get a robot with a 10 foot pole and extract it remotely from the ship because it would be way safer." it would be utterly boring and mind numbing to watch. You can't have a sci-fi suspense movie where everyone makes the best and safest decision possible.

My best advice is to just go into the movie wanting to be entertained. Laugh at the dumb things people do and enjoy the CGI world along with the neat future technology / heads-up displays.

Of Mosques and Men: Reflections on the Ground Zero Mosque

Are you talking to me, or talking to him...and furthermore, what are you even saying! I require specificity. Are you saying the Quran doesn't state those things? Are you saying he is taking them out of context? Just saying something doesn't make it so, you must plead the case. The whole point of this thread was to avoid group thing dynamics where you just state things carte blanche to resonate with your fellow minded friends and to engage with the core issue with specific, and perhaps, personal examples.

Since you seem to be on the edge of your seat let me elaborate:

"You (no, not you you, him you) have got a personal commentary which involves taking pictures meant or attached to a joke, a muslim quote from Abu-Darba Muhàmmad (III), who lived in 1618 and one from Tsafir Ibn Kathir, who lived in 1613 and whose thelogical statements are mildly controversial to state it kindly.

You (no, not you you, him you) then proceed to apply this almost 200 year old shematic and the de-contextualized "opinion" of a "muslim friend" onto the peaceful mayority of moderate muslims in the USA and elsewhere and finally end up knee-deep in the cesspool of ZE CULTURE WARS and fear-mongering, where building a house of worship is becoming an act of muslims showing off their religious penis because they are not allowed to have any friends.

I'm absolutely sorry I ever even doubted this man's objectivity and education. Remember, "it was in the minds of muslims ALL ALONG".

This entire debate has already achieved what media demagogues and fear-mongers on both sides of the fence wanted it to, regardless of whether the mosque is built or not.

Should have just built a &)§"&)§( dunkin donuts on ground zero and have it over with...

Sony PlayStation Move - Tech Demo

Shepppard says...

@Deano I actually agree, the game itself looks boring, not edge-of-your-seat exciting.

However, the mere point I was trying to make was that the playstation technology will be able to handle fantastic looking games as well as motion control.

The visuals in that socom demo are far superior to anything ever seen on the wii, and the developers aren't limited to "fun for the whole family" games, so there probably will be some fantastic future titles.

lol... I'd have more fun at a Rev. Jones kool aid party than this church function, but John Daker keeps you on the edge of your seat. I keep waiting for the stainless steel flying ball to drill into my skull. You might also be familiar with John from "Tales From The Crypt"
