@brycewi19 You are of course right, she must have suffered some form of psychotic break, since no sane person can do what she did and live with themselves (although she did try to kill herself afterwards, which indicates remorse; ie. not a psychopath).

Still, the difference between a person like Son of Sam saying a demon dog told him to kill and saying "satan made me do it" is a defense to avoid personal responsibility like "I was just following orders". To have actually done this does indicate some form of mental break or illness, but the belief in a god or devil in itself is indicative of a mental break, and should be treated as such (although the severity certainly is varying, hopefully none or few as severe as hers).

Like rottenseed says "This is the act of a crazy person, but a talking bush.." We should not encourage an ongoing mental illness, even though it works out well for some and disastrous for others.

Wow did you see the vicious attack dogs that guy was menacing those poor officers with? I'm surprised they didn't execute those demon-dogs on the spot.
