I wonder if "a thousand years" is a code for "we kept it as far away from George Lucas as possible." Because I'd be okay with that.

I saw this in the theater and I didn't believe Darth Vader. I thought he was lying.

It kind of pisses me off that I had this reaction because I didn't have that shocking reveal moment. It was more of a "yeah, right, liar." And then, the couple year wait while I figured it would be revealed in RotJ that he was lying and then: oh. well. I guess he wasn't lying. huh.

Lucasfilm was started because a guy didn't want to have to listen to someone tell him how to tell his own story. There is something to respect in that don't you think?
