Even though I'm not obsessive with the meta-game of sifting videos and getting votes it can at times prove compulsive to see something you've found strike a chord with others.
I was very happy with my recent cuttlefish video that I found in a couple of clicks after searching for "flamboyant" on YouTube. That was complete luck.

I see videos mentioned on other sites, in RSS feeds etc and if I like them then I check for a submission on Videosift.

I don't like to submit anything that's humiliating, has violence or is simply to dumb. I have to admit I don't like to be associated with trivial videos - in that sense I suppose I am making a statement about myself. Even if something stood to earn lots of votes I'd pass if it made me feel uncomfortable. And I don't believe I've resorted to a cat video - yet.

I'm quite proud of the Bravo channel that I founded when I got Gold 100. Yes, you could get a channel at that point but that was many moons ago. I've done a few general searches but I've yet to see another site that has a similarly nice collection of quality classical music videos.

YouTube has a millions things on it including most classical content but part of the problem is it's content organisation, quality levels and community. Videosift really lives up to its name in bringing the best videos to the fore.

I do enjoy it when people genuinely like what I've posted - I get more of a buzz out of that than having a high rank. Getting lesser known videos posted is satisfying especially as the classical stuff isn't exactly populist material.

I am getting the same thing: for me there are only three with thumbnails ("Ever see a cuttlefish turn on its camouflage?" and "Guy smokes first joint and attempts to play it cool (16s)" which have a thumbnail from the video and "The Daily Show - Sarah Palin Is So Dumb..." which has a generic thumb) the rest are missing.
