Best I can do is tell you that the front page has a vid called "Black Friday 2012 Fights At Wal Mart Over Phones" and popping out the chat shows a comment by Charliem, saying something about savages.

The comment is half the size of the speech bubble for me.

Can you give us an example? I'm not seeing it.

Emma Watson is Dangerous!

Vacuous, self centred women take note - this is what you should be like! Down-to-earth people like her and ellen page should be pushed as role models if you ask me.

what's it like being friends with emma watson and ellen page? it must be pretty cool knowing what they're like in real life.

Courting the sensationalist press/social media, behaviour towards fans, and interviews on chat shows.

People like ellen page and emma watson don't spout endless amounts of shit on the first, take pride in the second, and as for the third...... go and watch an interview with miley cyrus - that vapid whore is probably one of the most influential female teen stars around now, right? Yes i remember when she graced our TV and shared a set with dame hellen mirren, and couldn't keep her mouth from spouting such endearing lines as "Watch my movie" and "Buy my C.D." in utter ignorance of mirren.

Does that now qualify me to say who is a better role model in your eyes?

Emma Stone Dance Dare On Ellen

I'm so in favour of celebrities being like this. Take a look at miley cyrus.

Reminds me of when i saw that cyrus bint on a british chat show, i think she was on with hellen mirren. It was a real contrast of class against trash. Cyrus interrupting mirren to say "buy my dvd!" was a highlight.

Though i could say the same for most non-famous counterparts i've met. When did caking yourself in shit that clogs up your pores then having to dye your hair to make it suit your new orange skin tone become attractive?

There really aren't enough nice people out there (or at least not enough people think it's worth being nice), but i happen to think that niceness is really attractive.

Johnny Depp and Ricky Gervais on the Graham Norton Show Pt.2

WHAT AM I?!!

Reefie says...

My TV license fee was used to make THAT?? What is THAT??

Normally I'm cool with the shows that the BBC use our license fee to create, from Richard Attenborough documentaries through coverage of F1 motorsport and even the sometimes zany but oft enjoyable Doctor Who, not forgetting of course the always amusing Graham Norton for mocking our celebrities to their faces on his chat show.

Am I just being a lame duck and not getting the funny? I'm fairly sure the "What am I?" "Curious." gag has been done to death throughout the history of the English language so I'm suspecting there may be another gag in the clip that has gone straight over my head...

What happens when you put Chatroulette on live TV?

cybrbeast says...

The funny thing is that unlike America this won't cause a shit storm or a 'gate' and huge claims. This will probably just be laughed away. Here on the Dutch TV it was also played with live on a chat show, and a few cocks were quickly clicked away and the show went on.

Nerdist Podcast with Adam Savage of Mythbusters (Blog Entry by lucky760)

I heard that interview with Pollack- and was thinking of checking his podcast out too - as the interview was funny. The only thing that put me off is that he literally used "literally" to mean figuratively about 7 times in the interview- I'm not sure I could take that. >> ^lucky760:

I'm right there with you. I enjoy the things they discuss on Nerdist (e.g., the conversation with Drew Carey), but it feels sort of impotent because it's delivered like you're just eavesdropping on a conversation rather than being presented a production. I'm really surprised it's #6 among all podcasts and #1 in the comedy category above Ricky Gervais and Adam Carolla, but he does have a bit of a built-in podcast-centric geek audience.
ACP is always my first podcast of the day. The Bob Zmuda interview was great, but was cut too short due to the double booking.
Have you listened to Kevin Pollak's Chat Show? I discovered it thanks to his interview on Carolla. He has some really quality stuff. I also listen to the Parent Experiment, Frosty Heidi and Frank, After Hours with Heidi and Frank, the Pretty Good Podcast, and Loveline.
I haven't heard of the Marketplace of Ideas, but I'll give them a go.

George Lopez Interviews Clint Eastwood

therealblankman says...

Until this very moment I had no idea George Lopez had a chat show. Thanks for letting me know, not that I'll ever watch... he's one of the shallowest, most boring, most banal interviewers since Leno.

As for Clint- he's the man. One of the most talented, thoughtful, artistic directors working in the Hollywood system. Not to mention that he's a huge bad-ass.

Robin Williams Talking About Getting Owned in COD

Robin Williams Talking About Getting Owned in COD

DrivelsAdvocate says...

No love for Williams? I remember him appearing on a chat show a few years ago alongside Stephen Fry and he ran rings round him. Fry couldn't get a word in edgeways, and he continually changed the subject to obscure topics that Williams would instantly respond to with quicksilver witticisms.

Los Campesinos!: Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future

calvados says...

I grabbed hold of her wrist and my hand closed from tip to tip
I said “you’ve taken the diet too far
you have got to let it slip”
But she’s not eating again
she’s not eating again
she’s not eating again
she’s not eating again.
I ask her to speak French and then I need her to translate
I get the feeling she makes the meaning more significant.
She was always far too pretty for me to believe in a single word she said
believe a word she said.
At fourteen her mother died in a routine operation
from allergic reaction to a general anesthetic.
She spent the rest of her teens experimenting with prescriptions
in a futile attempt to know more than the doctors.
She said one day to leave her
sand up to her shoulders waiting for the tide
to drag her to the ocean
to another sea’s shore.
This thing hurts like hell
but what did you expect?

And all you can hear is the sound of your own heart
And all you can feel is your lungs flood and the blood course
But oh I can see five hundred years dead set ahead of me
Five hundred behind
A thousand years in perfect symmetry

Best known left wrist right finger
through all the Southern States
on every video games machine they call her triple A.
There were racists on the radio trying to give up smoking
the chat show host
he joked “you have to wait for the government program”.
You talk about your politics
and I wonder if you could be one of them
but you could never kiss a Tory boy without wanting to cut off your tongue again.
A good place to look to the future is when you are sat at the sea
with the salt up to your ankles and a view of the end of the pier
you may look down at your model’s feet and wish that you’d just float away
and the weather here is overcast and the sea is the same shade of grey
so the landscape before you looks just like the edge of the world
but to the left side and the right side
either way is a crazy golf course.
The sea is a good place to think of the future.

And all you can hear is the sound of your own heart
And all you can feel is your lungs flood and the blood course
But oh I can see five hundred years dead set ahead of me
Five hundred behind
A thousand years in perfect symmetry
A thousand years no getting rid of me
A thousand years in perfect symmetry.
