In parts of India where Zoroastrianism is still practised they "bury" their dead in a similar manner. They believe a corpse is corrupted by a demon and is thus made unclean. Burial means poisoning the ground with this corruption, and cremation means poisoning of the air so they dispose of their dead with the help of vultures. They leave their dead on a flat roof of a building called a Tower of Silence. The vultures take everything but the bones, the bones are left to be bleached by the Sun and gradually disintergrate after which they are washed out through coal and sand filters to the sea.

I quite like this religious tradition because it kind of makes sense ecologically. Vultures are incredibly important in the ecosystem and it seems strange that this bird has a reputation for being dirty or unclean when it is them that helps prevent the landscape from being covered in putrefying corpses. In the 90s vulture populations nosedived due to a drug used on cattle finding its way along the food chain. Something like a 99.5% population decrease. Sadly this burial tradtional pretty much went with them. Where previously corpses were stripped in a matter of minutes they now sat and rotted. Animal corpses also literally piled up, scavenging stray dog population exploded which had knock on problems, even shit like an increase in Tiger attacks (Tigers would venture into populated areas to hunt the Dogs).

Long story short I'd much rather have my body picked over by vultures than rot in a coffin or get turned into polluting gas. You know, assuming my organs weren't good for anything else.

I was a overweight person like the people you decided to criticize, so yes I do get worked up when assholes say off the cuff retarded shit that once hit me close to my heart. To be overweight is to be constantly brutalized based on the fact you are larger then another. One memory that serves at the moment is a cashier when I was 15, she was mad at me for whatever reason but said " shut up you fat fuck" as if being fat as some how offensive or whatnot.

Hypothetically, @quantumushroom, what if there were a religion that stated that white people are the true master race? Would you support their right to preach this? Their right to tell black people that they should try to be white and to try to get Asian people to go to a correction school to bleach their skin? The issue of free speech is an awkward one. I think you make a powerful argument against free speech but I do believe in free speech despite your worst efforts. I suppose the thing is that you can say what you like, but that doesn't mean you should. Agreed. I thought his point was to actually demonstrate what the homeopathic remedy concept entails... its one thing to pay $5 for something in the health-food aisle marketed to treat your health condition and another to see how that $5 box of BS was actually created.

I've notice there is a degree of confusion between 'homeopathy' and 'herbology' or 'natural medicines', as they are often marketed side-by-side as 'alternative medicines'... homeopathy is complete horseshit, while many (certainly not all) natural medicines are basically unprocessed drugs and vitamins.

'Homeopathy' sounds Latin and scientific, but its a scam for the ill-informed who see it as a cheap alternative to actual medicine, or those who confuse it with 'natural medicines' which may well contain salicylic acid (aspirin) or whatever and make you feels somewhat better.
