Thanks, and yes
British music has a long tradition of political commentary in music, like Amnesia about the sense of betrayal that Labour supporters felt with Tony Blair's New Labour:
With the catchy chorus: Do you suffer from long term memory loss? I don't remember. Also "The good ship lifestyle" - https://youtu.be/Uu8gO8d4aT8 and their version of Bella Ciao https://youtu.be/oSpqj3V0s2E
And then, of course, there's Billy Bragg.

Secret Of The Sea - Billy Bragg & Wilco
I first heard of Billy Bragg in the 80s, my music teacher told tales of this mad English guy who got up on stage with an amp, an electric guitar, and half sang half screamed really subversive folk songs.
He seems to have calmed down a bit since then.
Billy Bragg - It Says Here (BBC Breakfast 1984)
Fantastic, i LOVE Billy Bragg.
On the downside, this makes me feel VERY old indeed, I remember watching it at the time.

Wilco - Another Man's Done Gone
"Mermaid Avenue is a 1998 album of previously unheard lyrics written by American folk singer Woody Guthrie, put to music written and performed by British singer Billy Bragg and the American band Wilco. Mermaid Avenue is the street in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York on which Guthrie lived after being discharged from the Army."

Robyn Hitchcock & D. Bonet (Deni's living rm): DeChirico St.
Ahhh. I had this CD, although I'll be damned if I can find it. Robyn was also a real pleasure when he toured with Billy Bragg in 1997 or so.
