I agree with Dr. Paul, but the reality of the world doesn't mesh with his POV, which is a shame because 90% of what he's saying is correct.

In a perfect world, militarily we could mind our own beeswax and simply protect our borders, but if we stay home, China or others will move to take over the world by force.

In a perfect world, Congress would stay within its budget like we have to, but the reality is, they don't have to and therefore won't. If Congress spent only the money it collected in taxes, all these wonderful government programs and boondoggles loved by both major parties and "the people" would dry up.

Government is "that great fiction by which everyone tries to live at the expense of everyone else." You and I benefit from all the "illegal" spending going on so we're not about to stop it.

Some things RP wants are impossible due to human nature. Others are possible but improbable, like people eating only healthy foods at all times. Still others were once possible or probable, but no longer due both to human nature and how simultaneously small and complex the world has become.
