Bush's Unforgivable "Response" To 9/11 (not Troof Movement)
>> ^charliem:
...any planes not responding to be declared possible enemy and have fighter escort with authority to shoot down if deemed necessary.
That has been standard procedure for the last ~30 years, the only time it has not happened, was 9/11.
When a commercial plane goes off it's flight plan by more than a few degrees, it is contacted by air traffic control, if it doesn't respond properly, ATC contacts the military, who scrambles two fighters, those fighters time on target is usually less than 8 minutes from the time of course deviation.
Wings! - VS' latest channel (Wings Talk Post)
mg, I am assuming he discussed it with lunkwill, the owner of the spacy channel. Here's his description of his channel, don't know if that's gonna change...
The Clouds and Beyond
by lunkwill
Astronomy and aviation. Space and space exploration. There and getting there. The universe and the attempts of Icarus. Just about anything that can fly is welcome here.
The odd psychedelic clip regarding space will find its way here, as well as things related to aviation that are firmly rooted on the ground (eg: ATC).

Instrument approach and landing in very low visibility
Yeah, it is a bit long.
I wish they'd hooked the radios up to the microphone, so you could hear the exchanges with ATC. I'd also like to know what airport they're going to.
I'm also looking forward to doing this for real instead of just hearing my instructor say, "Ok, you can take the hood of now and land." It's just not quite the same.
Inside Fat Albert during the Jet Assisted Take-off
Ahaar! I learnt this at ATC. Its also my favourite miltary aircraft.
It is a Hercules C-130. Nobody quite knows why it is called that.
