Zero Punctuation - The E3 Trailer Park

mizila says...

"New IP" is one of the worst phrases I have ever heard. When I was a kid we said "new game".

Actually I think it was quite right to say "New IP," as they were talking about a game based on new ideas, as opposed to a game that is a sequel to other games. IP of course stands for Intellectual Property, usually referring to a games entire canon. So Assasin's Creed would be a "new IP," while Splinter Cell 16 would not be, though clearly both would be considered "new games."

Then again, I'm sure I said "new game" as a kid too.

Pelican Eats Pigeon - The Director's Cut

The Political Assassination of NY Governor Eliot Spitzer.

jwray says...

>> ^dag:
I'm not sure I buy the conspiracy KP - that these were "Bush Operatives" - the mainstream news explanation rings true to my ears. He was transferring large sums of money out of his bank account which automatically tripped the alarms.
If you think it's a conspiracy that they fingered him based on the money transfers- then you would have to believe conversely that "normally" the FBI would turn a blind eye to a high-ranking politician's escapades - which is more disturbing to me.

There are 1.2 million of those "automatic alarms" every year thanks to the PATRIOT Act. Nobody would have found it if they hadn't been searching for Spitzer in the database. The federal Justice Department never gets involved in an individual's prostitution case unless there's a political assasination at stake.

Hillary suggesting Obama could be assassinated

John McCain is older than...

critttter says...

^ So Obama or Clinton could be assasinated, or hit by a bus. What do you think became of all those people who fought for civil rights? (unlike McCain) The city I live in actually has a lot of elderly anti-war activists, because they have the time. I think McCain's problems are mental, not necessarily age releated. I have learned from some very brilliant people not to be age-ist. It's a very weak reason not to vote for this guy. Do you know many 72 year olds? Family doesn't count. And I'm not pro McCain, I'm anti age-ist.

The Assasination of Capt. America

Raigen says...

>> ^MarineGunrock:
I love people in Canada telling the reporters what the American dream and such is.

I did fail to see where that happened at all in the clip from Global National. I noticed one of the comic book employees discussing what Cap's beliefs about America was, and how they might not coincide with what America has become. I wasn't aware that was "The Dream", as it were.

Interesting bit of Comic Book Trivia for everyone as well: There is only one character that has died in the history of comic books, and has remained that way since it occured; Gwen Stacy.

And don't jump out at me and say she showed up in an issue of Spider-Man either! That was Gwen's supposed daughter created by Norman Osborne.

Huckabee Scares Me

jwray says...

Advocating a constitutional amendment could never be treason. Treason is an umbrella term for other crimes such as espionage and conspiracy to assasinate people. There is no need to have a separate crime of treason on the books. An overbroad definition of treason is a sign of fascism. Outside of espionage and joining the regular army of an opposing nation, laws against treason are only enforced in fascist states. No one is born with a duty to support any government, or indeed any thing, except truth and justice.

However, Huckabee is an ignorant fool who should never be president. If he wins, I am moving to Norway.

The Cover Up: How It's Done

rougy says...

I have seen a video with a recording between Hoover and LBJ regarding the Kennedy assasination - I'll try to find it. It's pretty clear that the two of them are talking to each other in a kind of code. In essence, LBJ is making the point that certain things must not become known.

Also, we've recently discovered that Hoover had a plan to arrest 12,000 people in 1950 and imprison them on charges of disloyalty.

Who would believe that our government could keep a secret like that for so long?

9/11 WTC 7 Collapse: Is it a controlled demolition?

rougy says...

"Much less how the government could shut up so many people. Lets face it they couldn't keep Watergate, Lewinsky, or other scandals from surfacing."

That's a logical fallacy and utter bull. The government can and does keep big, very important secrets.

It's obvious that the building was rigged.

Every reference to the NIST is as useful as referring to the Warren Commission report on the JFK assasination.

The point of the "official" investigation was not to uncover the truth: it was to highlight evidence that supported the official excuse, and suppress or ignore any evidence that challenged it.

MP5 Machine Gun Briefcase

9138 says...

hi,
new here. Why would a business man be travelling in treacherous areas where he would be likely to be kidnapped or assasinated? The only reason I can think of is to profit from the trouble. And to carry a machine gun in a briefcase. I think James Bond is a jerk. But a glamorous jerk with glamorous accessories like this particular item. I guess you just make the decision whether or not to be seduced by the glamour of war.

Wesley Clark takes Bill O'Reilley to the woodshed

gwiz665 says...

WC: "That's character assasination!"
Bo'R: "You're damn right it is!"
Bo'Rs brain: "... oh, wait a minute..."
Bo'R: "No it's not character assasination, it's facts!"

Everybody loves a freudian slip. I like how most Bill O'Reilly videos is excatly that - a Bill O'Reilly video. He speaks much more than the person he interviews, which is a fundamental flaw in an interview. Hmm, I think "like" isn't quite the right word I'm looking for. "die a little inside crying like a little girlyman because of" is probably more fitting. How can so many viewers like this? (This particular audience is special in that we see him for what he is, but I mean the general public? The ratings don't lie.)
