God does exist. Testimony from an ex-atheist:

Questioning Evolution: Irreducible complexity

TheGenk says...

>> ^shinyblurry:

Okay, the theory is that something mutates and creates something beneficial which then is selected to survive because it reproduces...well..how does natural selection choose for parts for components that dont exist and dont work? why would a creature with 1/40th of a working part be selected to survive so that it could get another part for a component that still doesnt work it just does not explain things like the flaggelums tail..thats what irreducible complexity is all about..there is no reason why flaggelums with a 10th an onboard tail motor would be selected to survive..just because each component could independently grow in some scenerio doesnt mean anything..no mutation for a non working part is beneficial..there would be no reason to continue on down that line or why the creature would survive in the first place.
another problem for evolution is that we can observe it in action..a generation of bacteria grows in no time..and at no time has there ever been observed one kind of bacteria mutating into another kind. we can test evolution this way..yes things mutate all the time..but they don't produce new kinds. not even once. so evolution is just not happening today

Concerning your first paragraph:
Just from the top of my head the Appendix comes to mind, which seems to not serve any function.
Regardless, you still use the irreducible complexity argument, which I should believe enough evidence has been presented to you to show that it is incorrect.

Your 2. paragraph:
Google is a b***

Now I am growing tired of this game because we came full circle.
I have only one question for you now:
How did, to the best of your knowledge, life end up like we see it today(I am not asking for how life came to exist, that has nothing to do with evolution)? And please provide evidence.

Circumcision - Another Form of Child Abuse

@apologists: you have NO ethical nor medical arguments on your side

Pfft...
It seems your opinion was considered very popular back in 1971. I had no idea.
http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/118/1/385.full

Did you read the part about cultural bias? The article you linked starts off promisingly:

"The American public remains resolute in its support of newborn circumcision despite negative recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)." Oh, so if the majority wants it...

The writer of the article: Edgar Schoen, Jew, maintainer of medicirc.org and member of the "Hill of Foreskins" society (Gilgal society). Noooo bias whatsoever there.

As for the actual "medical benefits" of circumcision, give me a f*cking break. "Prevents phimosis"? That's exactly like saying removing your toes prevents ingrown toenails. Phimosis is not only rare, but usually easily cured, as are most cases of UTI (btw, all the other fancy names that follow phimosis in the article are variations of the same thing). No need for mutilating your baby.

The most horrible and aberrant argument is the one concerning STDs and HIV... seriously, wtf?

Kids should not be having sex before the age of consent*; argument null!

(*that includes not being sucked off by some herpes-infested mohel.)

After that, it comes down to three things: hygiene, condoms and choice. Personal choice, not parental or communal pressure.

If it's all about prevention (a big effing lie), why not take out their tonsils? Or appendix? Or cut off the earlobes? Why not sterilize anyone who already has HIV? See where this goes?

Poll Suggests Ron Paul Can Beat Obama in 2012

quantumushroom says...

Even if RoPaul is right on 90% (hell even 80%) of the issues, people hate real change and REALLY hate fast change. When Cankles Clinton tried to ram through the original socialist health care claptrap in the early 90s she was shut down by an animal reactionary resistance before the logical arguments from both sides arrived.

In 4 years there's no way RoPaul can dismantle the Fed, call all the troops home, legalize drugs, etc.

Even if he had a sensible, painless way to enact his reforms, liberty's many enemies on both sides of the aisle would fight him every step of the way. No sane politician will vote to eliminate Socialist Security and Medicrap "overnight". That's why all 'new' government nonsense should be ferociously fought against...once it's signed into law it's hell to repeal it. Look at the burst appendix that is obamacare.

Even a neutered President RoPaul who got only 10% of what he wanted would be baby steps in the right direction and a welcome change from the obama nightmare. But both sides of the aisle are against him for their own reasons, as well as the leftist lamestream media.

Well if you didn't think the appendix was dumb, what about tonsils, your adenoids? They screw up ALL the time.

I always love that Mark Twain quote. I swear if there was a time traveler, Twain comes close as his insights are very good. Although, he could be very vitriolic.

I agree with him in general, but I wish he'd stop bringing up the appendix. They discovered the use for the appendix several years ago. It's a pocket where your body stores the 'good' bacteria you need to digest your food, when your body needs to purge because you're sick it provides the bacteria to re-colonise your digestive tract afterwards.

Police Brutality: Cops Taser Senior Citizen In Own Home

Lawdeedaw says...

Blame it on America's unyelding sense of justice. All must be punished. We are like the borg and we raise borg police officers. Our society (and many like ours) dole out punishment to placate everyone's need for hypocritical retribution.

Pot? Go to jail! Fight? Go to jail. Accident? Go to jail. Have to pee, public? Go to jail. Accidentally kick a paramedic in the face due to medical condition, which is still agaianst the law? Go to jail. Sick.

>> ^CyberViperDriver:
About five years ago I woke up in the middle of the night with severe pain in my groin and lower back/abdomen. I had my wife call an ambulance because I was afraid my appendix was about too burst or something. Fast forward 30 minutes later. The ambulance has arrived and I am on the gurney behind the ambulance in my yard. thats when the cops rolled in. In a case such as this it is common for the paramedic to do a test to see if it is indeed appendicitis or something less severe such as a kidney stone. The test is that they lift one leg (the affected side) and bend the kne, raising the knee as close to the torso as possible...if it is your appendix you will feel an intense but brief shock of pain and instinctively kick hard to straighten your leg. it was indeed my appendix and when he bent my leg I kicked, the paramedic lost control of my leg and I ended up bloodying the paramedics lip. he laughed it off since it is common (I learned later)
The two county sheriff deputies drew their tasers and commanded me to stand down. I was writing in pain strapped to a gurney. there was alot of shouting, one of the officers starting chanting his mantra of "lay still or I will tase you!" I couldn't lay still, I was in agony. the paramedic actually put himself between the sheriff and myself saving me from getting tased. Off we went to the hospital, My wife had to stay home because we have small children and couldn't get anyone to stay with them at 3am. later I learned that the officers had entered my home and performed a search without my wifes consent. she finally relented when they threatened to tase her and charge her with obstruction...this would have led to her arrest and the children being placed into police care shudder The police left when they couldnt find anything damning.
a few days later as I was recovering in the hospital from the surgery I received a notice that assault charges had been filed on me ON BEHALF of the paramedic I had "Assaulted" after getting home from the hospital I contacted the EMS service and was notified that the paramedic had refused to file charges even after being threatened by the two officers...so they went and filed charges on his behalf (perfectly legal for them to do I guess)
three court appearances and almost a year later I was finally cleared of this charge of assaulting an emergency responder (a felony) when the paramedic took the stand and explained to the judge just how everything had went down. since I had obviously plead not guilty I was liable for all the court fees on the defense. a few grand.
I have never had a criminal record, and a well established successful member of my community and I was almost raped by the people who are supposedly there to serve and protect...so yeah..cops can go suck a dick, every last one of them.

Climate Change - Those Hacked E-mails

bcglorf says...

His defense of hide the decline is pathetic. The entire thing about Jones and Mann's work is the matching of proxy data like tree rings to the measured temperature record. I can't find the full text of the email anywhere, but if the quote is referring to hiding a decline in temperature reconstructions from tree-rings, then it clearly is a major problem. The reason being that Jones and Mann's most famous contribution to climate study is the hockey stick graph, showing that based on proxy data, like TREE RINGS, the temperatures from 1000 through 1900 show stable temperatures, and from 1900 through to today temperature increasing like never before in the last one thousand years.

Wait you'll say, if that was true it should've been evident in the original study for all to see. The answer is that it in fact is. If you go look at the studies by Jones and Mann on their hockey stick graph, their appendix will link you to graphs of the raw proxy data, including tree rings, that they used. It is plain to see that the proxy data does not change AT ALL after 1900, yet somehow the reconstruction that is made with that data spikes up like mad at that point. The paper and email reference in essence the same thing, the use of the measured temperature record to calibrate select years of the proxy data to get a better result. It's not without reason that there has been a lot of questioning of the statistical methods used to create their reconstruction. In 10 years time this will be a foot note.

^ That's been proposed as a possible function but it's a bit early to say anything definitive. Either way, it's still better at killing us than saving our lives.

QFT, every christian I know has taken the new theory on the function of the appendix as proof of god. But it makes no sense as it hasn't been proven to be true yet and even if it is, far more people are killed by a burst appendix every year than are saved by the proposed 'clean' bacteria it contains.

On topic, fantastic video.
