I still think Will Ferrell makes a better Alex Trebek than Alex Trebek does.

This is a case of a very good director, just like every Will Ferrell movie that leaves you thinking he's a good actor.

Hahahaha! Rock you like a hurricane... if this were some Will Ferrell comedy about some inept hitman against some even more inept hitman played by Ben Stiller? Then the music would've fit the trailer.

oh man, will ferrell ALMOST managed to make it the whole way through a scene without going into his unreasonable yelling routine. rats

Yes, quirky characters are a staple of comedy, and there is often a straight-man there to play off of.
It may be formulaic, but when the performer is talented (do you think the ability to say a lot of inane stuff really fast and not crack a smile is talent? I do.) it can be enjoyable to watch. This, at least, is much better than that stupid Will Ferrel character whose quirk was talking really loud.

Anyway, yeah, this is not a joke repeated over and over, it's a performance.

Will needs to do some homework. Theres not even a Sizzler in Texas. tsk tsk Mr. Ferrell if your gonna do things you might as well do them right. He could of used CiCis Pizza or Panchos both buffet restaurants located in the area.
