Actually I'm sure I'll rent it soon. I've heard a lot of good things about it, including from people whose opinions I respect. I raised the same objection about Eisenberg to one of my friends who saw it, and he said, "This is the role Jesse Eisenberg was born to play." So you're both probably right.

Still, I've seen him in 'Adventureland', 'Zombieland', and most recently in 'Solitary Man', and I've almost had enough of him. He's Michael Cera, Part II - The Clone Wars. But they're both better than Toby Maguire. I bet his wife checks his pulse a few times a day.
In reply to this comment by Sarzy:
Thanks, KP. And you should reconsider on watching the Social Network. Jesse Eisenberg can be quite one-note, yeah, but he's actually pretty great in the Social Network. His acting style suits the character perfectly.

In reply to this comment by kronosposeidon:
This is perfect. I've deliberately avoided seeing 'The Social Network' because I really can't tolerate Jesse Eisenberg in a movie anymore. He's so flat. Toby Maguire and he need to find a new line of work. I'm thinking mannequins.

R!ck's General Grievous... German...

AnimalsForCrackers says...

Grievous in the movies was a huge disappointment after seeing him take on around six Jedi and a squad of clone troopers in the animated Clone Wars series, by artist of Samurai Jack fame, Genndy Tartakovsky. Supposedly he was greatly weakened by a Force Crush from Mace Windu before appearing in Revenge of the Sith, hence the constant coughing and wheezing, his hunched over sickly look and toned-down fighting style and the apparent ease with which Obi-wan Kenobi took him out (with a fucking blaster of all things! UGGH). He really deserved better. But that movie was a crapfest in general so I don't know how much having an at full-strength Grievous would improve that whole situation. Dirge would've been nice to see too but Kenobi had already had his way with him by then.

Actually, now that I think about it, the Clone Wars was the best thing to happen to Star Wars since the original trilogy by far.

MC Chris - Fett's Vette

eric3579 says...

Cruisin' Mos Espa
In my Delorean
War's over
I'm a peacetime mandalorian

My story has stumped
Star Wars historians
Deep in debate,
Buffet plate at Bennigan's

Rhyme renegade
Sure to penetrate
First and second offense
I won't hesitate

Got a job to do
And Darth's the guy that delegates
Got something against Skywalker
Someone he really hates

I don't give a fuck
I'm after Solo
For all I care
He could be hidin' at Yoda's dojo

Gotta make the money
Credit's no good
When the jawas runin' shop
In your neighborhood

Think you can cook
I got a grappling hook
Let's make this quick
'Cause I'm really booked

I'm a devious degenerate
Defender of the devil
Shut down all the trash compactors
On the detention level

chorus
My backpack's got jets
Well I'm Boba the Fett
Well I bounty hunt for Jabba Hutt
To finance my 'Vette

wicky wicky woo

Well I chill in deep space
A mask is over my face
Well I deliver the prize
But I still narrow my eyes
'Cause my time
I don't like to waste.

Get down

I'm a question
Wrapped inside an enigma
Get inside the slave one
Find your homing signal

From Endor to Hoth
Ripley to Spock
I'll find what you want
But there's gonna be a cost

See, my name is Boba Fett
I know my shit is tight
Start not actin'right
You're frozen in carbonite

Got telescopic sight
Flame throwers on my wrist
You still don't get the gist
Spiked boots are made to kick

Targets are made to hit
You think I give a shit
Yo mama is a bitch
I see you in the Sarlaac Pit

You just flipped my switch
Integrity been dissed
You scratchin' on my itch
You know I shoot to get

Got bambinas at cantinas
Waitin' to lick my lusty lips
So I'll let you get back inside
Your little space ship

Give you a head start
'Cause I'm the sportin' kind
Consider the starting line
The sneaky smile I hide inside

Hope you have hyper drive (drive)
pray to stay alive ('live)
Don't try to slip me a five
'Cause I never take a bribe

To the beat of a different drummer
Bad ass bounty hunter
Let no man put asunder
Or else they be put under

As in six feet
Got an imperial fleet
Backin' me up, gonna blow up
Any attempt to defeat

They gotta death star
Got four payments on my car
Hand it over to hammer head
At Mos Eisley bar

He used to carjack
Now he's a barback
Just goes to show how you can
Get back on the right track

As for me that's not an option
Can't say that with more clarity
Me going legit would be like
Jar Jar on speech therapy

Chorus
My backpack's got jets
Well I'm Boba the Fett
Well I bounty hunt for Jabba Hutt
To finance my 'Vette

wicky wicky woo

Well I chill in deep space
A mask is over my face
Well I deliver the prize
But I still narrow my eyes
'Cause my time
I don't like to waste.

Get down

Slice you open like a Taun Taun
Faster than the Autobahn
Or a motorbike in Tron
Do the deed and then I'm gone

Jaba has a hissyfit
Contact Calrissian
Over a colt, the plan unfolds
No politic is legit

Back in the day
When I was a slave
Living life in the fast lane
Like in a pod race

My mean streak tweaked
I became a basket case
So this space ace
Split that place, poste haste

Took up a noble cause
Called the Clone Wars
'Cause life's not all about
Girls and cars

Getting fucked up
In fucked up bars
See, I'm not a retard
Or gay like de Barge

I'm large and in charge
With a face so scarred
A cold black heart
That's been torn apart

The Sith wish that they
Had a dick so hard
'Cause it's long long ago
In a pussy far far

Call me master, 'cause I'm faster
Than Pryor on fire
I no longer have to hot wire

I'm a hunter for hire
With no plans to retire
And all the sucka MCs
Can call me sire

Chorus
My backpack's got jets! (jets jets jets)

Well I'm Boba the Fett! (the Fett the Fett)

Well I bounty hunt for Jabba Hutt, (Jabba Hutt Jabba Hutt Jabba Hutt)

...To finance my 'Vette (my 'Vette my 'Vette my 'Vette my 'Vette)

The Battle of Endor (Space Battle)

GeeSussFreeK says...

"The superluminal speed of a hyperdrive was rated on a decreasing scale; the faster the hyperdrive, the lower the rating. These ratings were generally referred to as "Classes" and provided a quick, although often inconsistent or inaccurate, idea of a ship's hyperdrive speed. In 30 BBY, Class 3 drives were experimental, and by the end of the Clone Wars most military starships were using Class 3 or Class 2. During the Galactic Civil War, military capital ships and starfighters were generally equipped with Class 1 or Class 2, industrial freighters and haulers with Class 3 or Class 4, and civilian starships with Class 5 or above."

The X-wing had a class of 1, which is pretty good. The hyperspace drive is fed from the normal horizontal thruster, though some ships used anti-matter units if the power wasn't up to snuff. The power was channeled and converted, then hyperspace was accomplished. The size of the engine and ship, and distance plotted would all play a factor of the spool up time required. Also, all ships had a built in mechanism to disable hyperspace when to close to a gravity well, as hyperspace through massive objects was deadly. Some would use this to disable ships drives and prey on them.

Star Wars according to someone who has never seen Star Wars

Sagemind says...

My wife has never seen any of the Star Wars movies either so I can totally relate. I'm such a SW geek and I'm bringing up my kids to be the same. I have about 500 SW figures still in pkg and between my son (age 7) and I, we have about another 200 figs out of pkg. Not to mention ships, books, masks, and all the other junk.

So basically a star wars house. But there sits my wife, never seen them, doesn't care to either. I'm not even allowed to set SW stuff up out in the open, My stuff is segregated to the basement only -lol.

I do have to give her (small) credit though, The kids asked he to name five star wars characters and she actually did it. My kids love asking her star Wars questions just to tease her...

Oh, and I have to admit, My son forced her to watch Clone Wars (animated movie) with him the other day, but he had to explain the whole thing to her as they watched it.

What Are You Going to Be for Halloween? (Kids Talk Post)

Sagemind says...

I'm building a costume for my son (Age 7)..., exactly as he has requested.

An Undead, Clone Wars type Jedi

A skeleton costume, Alien skeleton facepaint, A lightsabre, and a jetpack similar to a cross between what you would see on Boba Fett or a clone trooper. I've spent about 6 hours on the jetpack alone.

I'll be interested to see it completed! Kids have great imaginations, they don't want authenticity, they just want what they want!

Star Wars Blooper - Stormtrooper hits his head

Fjnbk says...

>> ^arsenault185:
What cracks me up is that all storm troopers are clones. So how are they different heights? One of the extras didn't show for shooting that day? If so they must have stuck Peter Mayhew (Chewie) in the suit and called it good.

The storm troopers were ORIGINALLY clones, during the glorious end days of the Republic and the CLONE Wars. After that, Kamino, where the clones were created, revolted and its cloning facilities were destroyed by the Empire. The storm troopers thus became filled with incompetents from all over the galaxy.

Sheesh.

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series trailer

BoneyD says...

The art style is based on Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars cartoon series from 2003. He had headed series like Samurai Jack and Powerpuff Girls, which also used this style of drawing.

If you can get a chance to go back and watch the episodes, do so. They were short, but really entertaining - using lots of big force powers, which made Windu look much more powerful than he did in the movies. I would imagine we will see the same here.

Computer Animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars Teaser Trailer

videosiftbannedme says...

Well said, Farhad. I too love the "first" 3 ie. SW, Empire, ROTJ (<-- Yes, I like the Ewoks) but had severely mixed feelings about the last 3. I remember sitting down to watch Phantom Menace the first time, excited out of my gourd. But after it finished, I was conflicted. It's more Star Wars which was a good thing but the story sucked. Certain aspects of it kicked ass like the pod race, saber fights but the rest wasn't up to par. Like you stated, one of the main appeals of the original trilogy, was that everything had a used feel to it. It wasn't the pristine hospital that Star Trek is; everything look old and like it belonged there. I think CGI still has a long way to go (detail wise) before it completely fools the eye.

Come Attack of the Clones, with Chistensen's horrible acting and Lucas' awful romantic dialog, I started feeling like I was watching Alien 4, thinking "Where the fuck are they taking this series?..." Again, a few high points but over all, meh.

I did like how he tied it all together in the 3rd movie. That is that trilogy's only saving grace.

With all that said, I thought they already did "The Clone Wars" as an animated series? Not sure what this new flashy 3D version is all about...
