Track rebuild: Toronto Transit Commission finishes work fast
Looks like the TTC is "finally" getting their shit together. This would have take a couple of years to complete back in the 90s.

Say It With Your Project
I was thinking the same until I saw the bus. It appears to have an MTA logo, not TTC which would make it New York.
In case anyone's wondering, this seems to have been shot in and around Toronto, Canada.

You are welcome mate. I'm not surprised you don't know Runnymede; even the fare collectors don't know where it is.

Thanks. I lived lived in TO for three years and I recognized the sounds of the subway right away but when the pigeon was about to get off I'm thinking what stop is that announcer saying. It's funny in all that time I didn't know that stop existed. I guess people get into their comfortable patterns of their daily lives and the neighborhoods they live in. Cheers.

Man sets Toronto transit bus on fire
I added the EIA charge not only because he could've easily goten himself killed, but because he freakin' showed up in court for a bail hearing later that day, where police, not surprisingly, recognized and arrested him.
"A Toronto man was arrested in a downtown courthouse this morning, accused of lighting a TTC bus ablaze early yesterday morning.
Steven Edwards, 28, was at Old City Hall for a bail hearing on other charges when cops from 53 Division charged him with assault, common nuisance, assault, fail to comply with recognizance, mischief interfere with property, five counts of weapons dangerous and two counts of arson — one for damage to property and the other for disregard for human life."

oh, problems at St. Clair West? You don't say!

Thanks for posting this. One of my 80s favs. Believe it or not, but the TTC are Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz of the Talking Heads.
How it's Made: Buses.
If you were planning on opening your own bus factory, this really would qualify as a *howto vid. Heck, I'm calling it one now anyway.
Oh, and if this doesn't belong in *kidsift, I don't know what does.
Mmmm.... velour. Dude, that's a TTC bus!
Cars suck, public transport rules, it's obvious
J-Rova - you think 170 cars would be quieter?
I'm glad to live in Toronto where I have a public transit system that, despite it faults, rocks hard. The city shuts down without the TTC.
And the government is actually opening its eyes and realizing we need more mass-transit lines... the future could be bright for Toronto if they don't screw it all up.
As for smelly people, random hobos on the streetcar are rather rare. I encounter one maybe every year or two. Not a bad rate - I see more on the street!

Very good; e-mail me for detailed contact info - I've got a link in my profile.

TTC rocked today. I saw suckers stuck in downtown rushhour traffic while I just wandered into the subway with no problem. I love it.

Those days and times are fine with me, and downtown-ish is fine, too, as I TTC everywhere.

“Very good because Saturday doesn't work for me either.
I have a couple of other friends on the Sift. It could be the largest Meet Up for a very long time if it's well planned... or if people's schedules just jive together well.
I'm thinking Thursday/Friday either day, evening - like between 6 and 8... somewhere downtown-ish.
