Multiple Homosexuals Witness a Fire

I feel the same distaste towards stereotypical frat boys. Beer pong and vomit, hazing and sexual harassment.
I'll take these guys any day.
>> ^probie:
One of my best friends is gay and would hate these guys. Because of the stereotypical "gay" inflections in their speech. As he puts it, not everything is an "end of the world, Earth-shattering moment with a hint of disdain..." I gotta agree with him.

Like Stephen Fry says, it's not fair to exclude people who sound like this in media because they're are gays very much like this with the look at me attitude and the way of speaking. There are also butch gays who you'd never guess. The funnier people are those who act like the guys in the video, sound like them, yet are very straight. People come in all ways, can't exclude them from the camps, they've all gotta burn together.

House MD - 177 Episodes in 7 Minutes

Yogi says...

One of my favorite shows ever. Whatever was wrong with Episodic, hyperbolic, American television was also set right on most episodes of House. It was continuously strong, even stronger and more consistent than a great television show like Buffy (my favorite of these sorts of shows).

If anything Hugh Laurie should now do a victory lap with Stephen Fry by his side for a funny American television show. I think everyone would love that.

Kevin Smith: Creation vs Criticism

Yogi says...

It's as true as when Stephen Fry said it on Room 101. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tO_jmUDaHSA&feature=player_detailpage#t=64s

I've liked every Kevin Smith movie I have seen. I wouldn't call them great cinema or compare them to some art house flick or Woody Allen film, but I enjoyed them. That's the point, I don't think I have never NOT enjoyed a movie. I've disagreed with them, I've been selective about the ones I will go see but every one of which had some redeeming quality and gave me some pleasure. I don't get why critics exist really, learned analysis of a movie ok that's fine...giving a movie a certain number of Stars or a directional digit? No thanks keep your ridiculous math to yourself and just say "It's good see it" or "Not for me but if you like _____ maybe you'll like this."

Stephen Fry reviews Book of Genesis

>> ^Unsung_Hero:

The Old Testament of the bible is fun to read. It's chalked full of God smiting people, talking snakes, rape, murder, love triangles, and magic.
The New Testament is like the instructions from IKEA... You should probably read it but it's easy to convince yourself not to.

Don't forget the incest; the OT looooooves itself some incest. And foreskin fetishes.

As for the NT, it would be like an IKEA manual if the latter condemned you to eternal torture for shopping with another brand, or (God forbid!) making your own furniture.

Henry Rollins: The One Decision that Changed My Life Forever

Yogi says...

>> ^Stormsinger:

I like listening to Henry Rollins almost as much as I like listening to Kevin Smith, and for many of the same reasons. These two men are witty, articulate, and they just "get it". Every single talk I've heard from either of them has always contained some little nugget I hadn't previously considered.

This! I don't know why people hate Kevin Smith soo much, whenever I hear the guy talk I'll listen forever. Same with Louis CK when he's just on a radio show or doing an interview...or John Cleese...OR Stephen Fry! Goddammit too many interesting people!

Ah em, It's Jon Stewart.

Thanks! I'll blame the fact that I can very rarely watch anything Daily Show cos it's all goddamned blocked, which I remain sore about even now!

Blocked?! You have the internet, man!
There's a tube for that.

Wo-man, and I'm not very good on the internet, the only way I know how is to fuck about with my ISP address and I don't want to
I should have specified my message was in the voice of a loud, English Stephen Fry type character, and the line sounded good in my head, wrong gender intact. I guess you don't do BitTorrent then?

Hahaha, oh! Yeah, I'm not adverse to torrents, but I'm not quite curious enough to go about downloading yet. I just want it at my fingertips, so many times I've seen stuff I know I'd love and whoops! it's TDS. Fuckers...
