Good post! I also have lucid dreams from time to time. 90% of the time they're induced by realizing I'm hovering a few feet above the ground in the dream (like the guy in the vid), then clarity sets in and everything becomes brighter and more colorful, sort of hyper-real. Unfortunately I have trouble maintaining clarity over longer periods, but it's absolutely worth trying & training! I can recommend the excellent "Exploring the world of lucid dreaming" by LaBerge / Rheingold on the subject.
