Batshit Crazy Interpretation of Michael Jackson's 'Beat It'

daviDMCelis says...

IMO, you guys are in serious denial. Instead of resorting to name-calling and belittling, why not make a point by point rebuttal?

Is “beat it” not slang for “masturbate”?

Is Michael Jackson not making a suggestive “jerk off” motion with his hand in several parts of the video?

Regarding the use of the Washington Monument in the video, that monument is an obelisk, which, in the ancient Egyptian religion, represented the phallus of Osiris, or the “lost word”. This ancient religion—which is simply Luciferianism, or the worship of the intellect—is practiced by occultists, such as Freemasons, Rosicrucians, and “Bonesmen”. Do you guys really think that Mike is flashing the horns hand signal for nothing?

what about the deists?
everybody is so worried about the atheist and the theist, but what about the deists?
ya know what?
i dont really care, cuz if you dont chew big red then FUCK YOU!

I care about deists! I also like animism. Both are belief systems that I find attractive and non harmful to society (such as imposing one's morals on others, or fundamentalist-driven wars). I believe quite a few of the USA's founding fathers were deists, and if the lyrics of Pocahontas's song from the Disney movie are any indicator, the Native Americans were animists ;-) I do think both belief systems should get more recognition. The problem is defining religion in the first place. There really is no line between certain religions, philosophies, and belief systems. So, imho, there are actually many more atheists in the world currently, and historically, than people realize.

Honestly, I'd rather have this conversation in a classroom, or drunk, or both.

i was bein a smart ass,and i wanted to use that awesome line from tallidega nights.
there actually is a definition of religion, which i have posted..and it got me nowhere.i think people conflate certain properties much too easily concerning theism and deism.
you are correct about america's forefathers being mainly deists..also freemasons.native americans have an incredible array of belief systems concerning the great spirit.
i loved the video you posted =)

Hmm . . . yeah, I knew you were being a bit of a smartass, but I use any excuse to act pretentious and discuss difficult topics.

I don't actually agree about there being a definition of religion, but yes, I agree that the Native Americans have a variety of amazing belief systems (and not just the ones in North America). This semester I studied the Lakota a bit, and learned of Wakan Tanka (did I spell that correctly), and I've studied the Maya quite a bit. There are so many things we can learn from the cultures we've destroyed/are destroying. So, I don't understand why people are so anti-atheist, when atheists seem to appreciate the "array" as you put it of dying religions, and it is often the fundamentalists of the current era that crush those cultures and their religions. Have you ever read Lame Deer? If you haven't, I think you would love it.

:-)

Edit: ha, I feel like a dumbass after looking more closely at your profile. You teach comparative religions? From an anthropological perspective? And which definition of religion do you ascribe to? Geertz? I'm very curious. Btw, I'll probably post the other videos featuring Albert if I can keep getting them sifted.

Zeitgeist Refuted

EndAll says...

I agree that citing the Bible as a source isn't the best way to go about refuting some of the claims.. I couldn't get through this whole thing. From what I understood though, this film only attempts to refute the part of Zeitgeist that dealt with Religious conspiracy? It seemed to acknowledge the whole secret society, hidden hand, Freemason stuff. I wonder why no one has attempted to refute all that. :}

Was China's spacewalk faked

ponceleon says...

Utter crap.

The bubble is the only half-way interesting thing about it. The flag, the movement, pretty much everything else, points to it being in space and most definitely not underwater.

The flag in particular shows the author is clearly just looking for conspiracy. It is SO not underwater.

edit: willing to bet money that the author also thinks 9/11 was a full blown conspiracy and that the government is controlled by the freemasons.

Israeli Attack on the USS Liberty

ElJardinero says...

Sorry but Alex Jones has been projecting that Marshal Law will be put in place in the USA since 1999, he keeps yapping about the shadowy elite. They control the world and are devil worshippers, like that would matter. If a group of people was smart enough to pull all the important strings in the world, they wouldn't be something stupid like devil worshippers. But of course Alex finds this very logical because he's a crazy christian.

70% of his data is real, but the way he ties facts together is completely nuts.

I once saw a interview with a Freemason, he was talking about the conspiracy theories and he said "you know, if we were some kind of organization that controlled the world we wouldn't be having arguments about what should be for desert".

None of them were buried for "three days"? I stopped the video the first time this claim was made, and arrived at Mithra. Here is a source stating that Mithra was raised after 3 days: http://freethoughtpedia.com/wiki/Jesus_and_Mithra

There's no actual evidence for that claim, though. You'll notice that the site you link to doesn't provide a source.

That's because there isn't one. Most of the stuff that's claimed about Mithraism is pure speculation. We have literally no idea what the doctrines of Mithraism really were. It was a mystery cult, and those initiated were forbidden from revealing the doctrines to the public. The doctrines were never written down, as far as we know. All we have to go on are a few scattered claims and rumors in extant texts, and the symbols inside the Mithraea where Mithras was worshiped--symbols that could mean practically anything.

There are plenty of sources cited there in the interactive transcript. Check them out if you think this is all lies. He also has an extensive Q&A section that responds to a lot of the criticism.
People who have a knee-jerk "lies!" response without any open minded thought are far less credible in my mind. Agree or disagree, at least have a productive discussion before dismissing anything.

The fact is that Zeitgeist's assertions regarding religion stand or fall with the legitimacy of his main source Gerald Massey, a 19th century poet and self-taught Egyptologist. His work has not stood the test of time, and his theories are not at all accepted among professional Egyptologists today.

Other sources cited on that list as authoritative purveyors of fact include James Frazer's Golden Bough and Manly P. Hall's The Secret Teachings of All Ages. James Frazer used a flawed research methodology and came to conclusions that have since been abandoned by succeeding anthropologists and mythographers. Manly P. Hall was an early 20th century esotericist, occultist, and freemason. His writings are works of speculation more than history.

QM is right once again. My downvote button must not be working, because I somehow upvoted another liberal propaganda video. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. I blame the liberal media, the liberals in Congress, the liberals who run this site, the liberal scientists, the Mexicans, Mooslims, atheists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Freemasons, French, and Santa Claus. Yeah, that's right: SANTA CLAUS. Think about it:

He gives toys to ALL the good girls and boys, for FREE, regardless of how much they contribute to the economy. Sounds like he's redistributing the wealth to me. Call it what you want, but I call it Marxism. Now you know why Santa wears red.

Well we're on to you, pinko! Your days of violating free market principles are numbered, you jolly fat fuck. Merry Christmas, Komrade Klaus!

Richard Dawkins responds to Jerry Falwell's students

Farhad2000 says...

What of 2001? Foundation? Childhood's End and my own personal favorite Dune? They all offer different takes on what a higher supreme being may or may not be. I mean it's perfectly possible that we are actually a large biological experiment run by extra terrestrials, who view us in the same vain we view mice, a baser animal that can be used to gain insights. Or perhaps it could really all be Douglas Adams like and the mice maybe running the whole thing... Or maybe there is a 'supreme architect' as the Freemasons put it, but thinking that his attention is purely focused on us would be delusional given the vastness and mystery of the Universe. Even then this superior intelligence would need a creator of and within itself.

But what's clear is that it's determental for human society to treat religious text as dogma, and the fervent word of God. Theologians themselves say that ultimately the Bible is an allegorical fable, put together over many year following the death of Jesus Christ, agreed on and put forward by the Council of Constantinople. See Dead Sea scrolls...
