"I will survive" - Nerd Revenge in VH1 Anti-Bully ad

oritteropo says...

In the Adfreak article I linked in the description, David Gianatasio makes similar points, that although the ad is expertly staged and boasting a great cast, and represents great wish fulfillment for the repressed, it ultimately falls flat for failing to actually discourage the bullying behaviour

Even so, breaking the cycle and discouraging the behavior should be the goal, shouldn't it? There's really none of that here. (Contrast VH1's approach with Everynone's short film on bullying from a few years back, which really captured the complexity of the issue.)

Having read that article, and wholeheartedly agreeing with its criticisms... I still posted the ad, because despite failing in its primary mission, I still liked it

Flawed but enjoyable, just don't take it too seriously.

Nice to see these common sense comments, was going to post a similar thing! When you think the measure of your worth is whether or not you keep low paid slaves and pets around, you know you're a shallow, spiritually bankrupt individual.
