YouTube Problems Anyone? (videos stopping eary) (Sift Talk Post)
YouTube was having problems the last few days. I assume it was related to the east coast's disaster. But yeah I hate the buffering problems. I still prefer to watch videos locally and not streaming!!!
Obama and Bill Gates Created Hurricane Sandy
Why would Obama/Gates target the east coast, an area that tends to vote democrat.
UNLESS THAT'S WHAT THEY WANT US TO THINK!
sigh...stupid DJ is stupid.
Obama and Bill Gates Created Hurricane Sandy
One more:
I find this one interesting as the storms on the east coast happened simultaneously with the earthquakes on the west coast.
Storm Diaries - How is everybody doing? (Nature Talk Post)
I would absolutely have to agree.
While the repercussions were minimal this time around - and hopefully the next time as well, It did steal our focus from the media and reports coming out of the Eastern side of the continent though.
All the media and hype sucks us in and consumes us making us a busy and keeps us occupied. Even if it doesn't effect us, it still takes up residence in our heads.
If nothing major comes of the storms in the east, at the very least, it twists people focus and keeps them hyper aware and conscious of pending doom whether it produces any or not.
---On that same note - I hope anyone that is on the East Coast are safe with all family members accounted for - enjoy your forced family gatherings and get to know your neighbours a little bit more. Make the best of it and turn it into something positive.

At the risk of jinxing us I'd say we must be karma positive to have a 7.7 quake that does no damage.>> ^Sagemind:
Westcoast BC, Canada - unlike the Eastcoast, we are more worried about earthquakes.
7.7-magnitude quake rocks B.C.

...And countless aftershocks ranging from 2.5 - 6.3

And then I woke up in China (Travel Talk Post)
Thanks for all of your kind comments! I managed to get onto a (fast-as-slugs!) proxy to check to see if some of my images had been sneaking through the cracks and... success! You can see my recent 'phonetography' on the tumblr blog I set up. I'll try to post things more as I find time to get to wifi zones. In the mean time, you can see a few recent images from my trip from http://scottricheyphoto.tumblr.com
Let me know what you think.
@zombieater: I didn't know you were from the East Coast. Nice to meet another Maritimer!
@chingalera match.com redirects to a Chinese version of the site. I can read nothing.
Bill Nye: Creationism Is Not Appropriate For Children
>> ^KnivesOut:
I took my small family to DC a few weekends ago to visit the various Smithsonian museums, and I really fell in love with the Human Evolution exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. I would highly recommend anyone living on the east coast or travelling near there to visit, it's just extremely well presented and very accessible to everyone, both children and adults.
I was especially surprised at the end of our walk-through to see that the thing was funded by David H. Koch. It literally blew my mind, I guess just because of the nonsense that his sons have been up to for the past few election cycles. It seems to me that those two are responsible for funding so much ignorance, and yet their father funded this magnificent exhibition... I don't know, just weird.
Actually, David H. Koch is one of the two Koch brothers currently funding republican candidates. It wasn't his father who donated the exhibit, it was him. It does seem odd that a guy who has used his vast fortune to deny climate change also gives big donations to Nova and the National Museum of Natural History. I kind of doubt he's even dumb enough to sincerely be a climate change skeptic. I think he just cares more about being an ultra rich guy.

Climate Change; Latest science update
>> ^vaire2ube:
and the east coast heat wave continues to kill the elderly ... when can it be winter again so we can use our eyes to deny scientific analysis.
plus if science was right and the world is ending, than... religion was right! nyah nyah now we're all dead so you can't use facts!!
now i see the appeal.
On the plus side if the heat wave kills enough elderly people they can't vote and we'll be able to get some Climate Legislation through!

things americans dont get-a young aussie girl breaks it down
>> ^spawnflagger:
I used to think Australian accents were sexy on women, but after being to Thailand, and overhearing so many Aussie's there on Hol-ee-day, it just became so annoying. Not quite Valley-Girl accent, but pretty close.
This girl reminded me of that.
There are several Australian accents. I myself speak with an 'Adelaide' accent, which is considered more educated (or poncey, depending on your point of view). This girl has a broader east coast accent and I particularly hate how they say "Ostraiwya" instead of 'Australia'.
There's an L in there you morons!
Got Any Sugar?
An East Coast under Hank Scorpio would be better than any other America.
Where in the world are you? (Travel Talk Post)
I live between Beijing and Cupertino, CA.
I grew up in the deep South of the US. I went to schools up and down the east coast.
I have traveled to every continent but Antarctica.
I love living in Asia.
Coffee Shop Customers - Tales Of Mere Existence
Weird, I've heard the "honey man" story about other coffee shops on the east coast.
