Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama on Meet The Press

blankfist says...

Simmer down there boiling water. You're getting all huffy over something insignificant. Just because I'm not aligning with your partisan rhetoric doesn't mean I deserve to be blasted. Where's that liberal tolerance I keep hearing about?

I do research beyond pro-Obama YouTube videos and the Huffington Post. Maybe those who don't shouldn't label others as "lying" to themselves or "ignoring reality". I dislike both parties, rougy, and mainly because I don't see much difference in them. I've given proof that I'm not making up this connection between neconservatism and liberalism, but if that's too difficult for your fragile liberal sensibilities to handle then please feel free to continue to downvote my comments.

"Nature Can Be Lethal": Samuel L. Jackson Gets Owned

SPOILERS FOR DEEP BLUE SEA

I find the end of the movie really disturbing, when hottie Saffron Burrows is suddenly eaten by the sharks and we get to see her remaining leg twirling down through the water past the camera, twitching. It's the twitching that really disturbs me.... it's like five seconds ago you were completely fuckable and now you're just a bloody twitching stump of leg... the other half of you, the half with a pussy and a face, is probably inside a motherfucking shark right now, probably still alive and drowning\suffocating in the shark's belly since it just swallowed you like two seconds ago... sharks don't chew they just bite off the biggest piece they can swallow.. quite disturbing if you picture it clearly enough.

Oh Dear God… This Is Our Country

quantumushroom says...

Gee you're a swell guy QM... swell.

Aww shucks. You mean, you're surprised when people get mad at cheap shots taken at their country? Am I supposed to think that since you're an Aussie you ride around on twin crocodiles like skis in the water and in a kangaroo pouch on land? Chugging Foster's in between throws of the boomerang? Laughing it up with Yahoo Serious?

Perhaps you might want to look at just how 'great' the US is at giving aid?

What a delightful socialist website!--according to which "Low gas taxes ($0.11 per liter; rank: 21)" is a "weakness."

While you're at it, why don't you blame Bush for stubbing your toe and burning your toast.

Now, good old Australia (my country) rates pretty darn poorly too, depending on the figures either just above or just below the US... and we've had a pretty bad environmental track record along with the horrendous US of A... but while this: "Along with Australia, it is one of only two CDI countries that have not signed the Kyoto Protocol." was true up until this year, our new prime minister ratified Kyoto pretty much as soon as he took power.

Hopefully we're on our way up.

Kyoto? Why would you celebrate another blow to your economy over a fictional weather crisis? I can see how you might be concerned about rising seas, living Down Under, but waters rising less than one foot in one hundred years should be manageable even by descendants of criminals.

I really hope your next president, who'd better be Obama and not... shudder, McCain, will be able to lift up your country, because the people that you QM, love so much are pulling the country, and the world, down, down down.

Unlike say, the UN, that wonderful band of Turd-World despots whose 12 years of resolutions against Saddam did nothing, or the Red Chinese harvesting the organs of their prisoners, or the new Euro-Muslim Union? All crap. I didn't weep over the fall of the soviet union, so the collapse of all the aforementioned wouldn't bother me either.

Any time I annoy a socialist, it's a good day. And I'm not even trying! All one has to do to upset left-wingers is declare love of America and/or believe in God.

Republican Hypocrisy Lives! Larry Craig still kicking (Politics Talk Post)

Whoa, simmer down there boiling water. Fiscal irresponsibility and nation-building are Democratic "things", too. Democrats have proven to be interventionists. Have we forgotten about Wilsonian interventionism? Woodrow Wilson believed every man had the right to self-determination and further believed it was America's duty to protect democracy throughout the world. Wilson sent troops to Mexico to proclaim martial law during a revolution. He was quoted saying his efforts were to "teach Latin Americans to elect good men." And, let us not forget his interventionist role in Europe which aided in the Versailles Treaty. We know how that ended for us.

What about Franklin Roosevelt? Hey, tell me which right-wing mouthpiece publication is responsible for this quote: "Franklin Roosevelt relished his nation-building" Fox News? Nope. The New York Times did in regards to his interventionist policies in Haiti. FDR even said "I wrote Haiti's Constitution myself, and if I do say it, it was a pretty good little Constitution."

What about Lyndon Johnson in Vietnam? The Vietnam War has been categorized as LBJ's war. But, our involvement with Vietnam started during the cold war, which started to be realized when Harry S. Truman tried to contain communism in Southeast Asia in the 50s. And, hell, JFK was guilty of increasing financial aid and advisory assistance in South Vietnam. He fully adopted the National Security Action Memorandum 52 which was left over from the Eisenhower Administration that read in regards to South Vietnam: "The U.S. objective and concept of operations stated in the report are approved: to prevent communist domination of South Vietnam; to create in that country a viable and increasingly democratic society, and to initiate, on an accelerated basis, a series of mutually supporting actions of a military, political, economic, psychological and covert character designed to achieve this objective."

Will that do or should I continue?

Cop Eats Pot Brownies and Calls 911 - The Full Version

curiousity says...

lol... Oh brownies.

I don't do drugs anymore and rarely drink these days, but I remember back in the day. One time I came home after a hard day at work. My roommates made brownies. They were all sitting around watching TV and let me know to have some brownies. "Eat two," they said - so I ate two. As I washed them down with some water, I sat down on the couch. I asked my friends what they've been doing today. "Oh, we've been high all day long. We ate one brownie in the morning and one a couple of hours ago." It was now late at night so of course my response was a WTF? I wasn't able to sleep that night for a long time because my entire body was tingling too much.

Seems like the cop wasn’t very informed about marijuana (such as no recorded deaths ever from overdose of marijuana.) I'm not a big fan of putting something into my body unless I know more about it, whether it is illegal drugs, legal drugs, prescription drugs, etc.

Landmark Implosion--Giant Demolition (37 secs)

I should probably point out that the discussion between Gorgonheap and Gluonium is an entirely unnecessary one.

Consider the following thought experiment: A suicidal man jumps from a high bridge. Now, his journey down to the water may closely resemble that of a man who has been pushed, but that fact is certainly not a good reason to think that he actually has been pushed.

If he's a clown just meaning to entertain (note the ridiculous sunburn), he's pretty damn good at pratfall. That plus the genuine and almost immediate laughter (he's not even face down in the water yet) make this a good laugh.
