The colours reminds me of a certain vortex from Battlestar Galactica.
What's the best Star Trek Series? (User Poll by Throbbin)
For me, DS9 was the best: great character arcs, especially for Dukat, Kira, Sisko, and Odo. Lots of Fighting In Space with the Defiant. The Bajorans were an intriguing culture to find out about, but the show never came down on the side of supernatural explanations for their gods and spiritual beliefs (Battlestar Galactica take note). And there was a huge, epic story with the Dominion War that stretched and developed through the whole series, whereas we were lucky if TNG had a story spread across two episodes. Not to mention the terrific production design and rich interplay between the characters. The characters never seemed to connect in TNG: everyone was too nice to each other and hardly ever argued unless they were under the influence of an Alien Arguing Virus or something. Plus TNG's sets were revolting and there was a frigging PSYCHIC PSYCHOTHERAPIST on the BRIDGE, for crying out loud. How unrealistic, how eighties, is that?
Voyager was little more than "The Seven Of Nine Show". Too many episodes focussed on this boring waste of narrative space. Being Borg, Seven should have been an interesting and unique character, but she was basically a Vulcan with a bit of plastic stuck around her eye. And they already had a Vulcan on board! Oh, and don't get me started on Neelix. More annoying than a tribble, the character of Neelix alone should have been enough to get the show cancelled after its first season. The appalling time-travel-paradox finale was baloney, and Janeway's voice was super-annoying.
Enterprise was another wasted opportunity, though I did like Scott Bakula. And as for TOS, I suppose I'm just the wrong generation to really enjoy it. I appreciate it for the groundwork, but it's not really the same standard as the later series.
Oh, and DS9 only had one episode with bloody Q in it, which is a good thing.
Aaaand relax.
Michelle Bachmann is shameless
Since Battlestar Galactica went off the air, I've been watching this person. She's endlessly entertaining.
Finally Finished BSG (Blog Entry by dag)
More on this in a previous discussion.
I'll be damned if I'm not addicted to BSG in Season 4 (Scifi Talk Post)
^ Yeah I think Chief was one of the best, most abused characters too, but honestly? nothing beats Saul Tigh.

^ also, gwiz thinks Lost is quality television.
I don't watch alot TV and when I do it's mostly football (soccer to you yanks). Lost is one of the few things I watch and one of the best shows on TV as far as fiction is concerned, can't beat a good docu tho.
Oh and this thread is about Battlestar Galactica. Funny thing is that alot of very different people told me that they enjoy this show. I just don't enjoy these shows that much. I do enjoy Scifi if it's good, but I'd much rather watch a movie. It's roughly two hours and has a beginning and an end. I don't like the whole deal with (multiple) sequels either. I think I'm gonna give it a go sooner or later, even tho I heard people are disappointed with the way they ended the show? Oh well, that was true for The Sporanos too, and I thought that ending was pretty good.

I'm not one for technical detail and consistency - it doesn't really matter when what's always impressed about BSG is solid acting, great characters and top drama.
I loved the acting, characters, and drama also. But since when did plot not matter? The story of BSG was really damned good for the most part. Is it asking too much for the story to make sense? For beginnings to have endings? In my opinion, they promised so much, and failed to deliver when it came time.

It sounds like Bear McCreary used some of this style for Battlestar Galactica.
Banned from TV Family Guy Clip
This really all comes down to one thing: some TV shows transcend the medium, and some stay in it and only merely elevate it a bit (which isn't saying much). Maybe family guy is sort of ok, but like Battlestar, its not GREAT, so get over it. And as far as them taking that pathetic whack at the sopranos at the end, I dont think McFarlane should really be shit-talking the narrative stability of a show like the Sopranos. The Sopranos gave us years of concomitant narrative grace and experimentation, which sadly cannot be said for one single episode of family guy.

"And gwiz, what the frak is that, equating Lost and BSG?... You are dead to me"
How is hoping an ending of one show isn't as crap as this one equating it??
Fuck off EDD Lost will surely surpass this bullshit! Fuck off alllll you haters! I hate you!
Lost better have a great finale

As empty and hollow as the Matrix ending felt, it too was also far superior to BSG's ending. Ron Moore should bow his head in shame.
>> ^EDD:
Oh, and I'll just say this - the very central motif of BSG was - from the very beginning till the very end - the morality of co-existence with AI. In brief, I was satisfied with their conclusion - for one, it was way better, if somewhat alike, than that of the Matrix movies.

Lost is superior in every way. BSG was good up until, well, basically everything with Hera was for naught. "Angels" or whatever they were. Kara Thrace ended up just being crap. I like things that make sense and as weird and fucked up Lost is, it makes much, much more sense than BSG. Rest in Piece, BSG, you died a horrible death. Hopefully no one is going to resurrect your stinking corpse in a spin-off.
(oops..)

I'm sorry I only have the time to downvote a couple of pretentious tossers' comments, and sorry that I don't have the time to delve into the revelations at the moment, but rest assured I will take the time in the next 24 hours or so to express how I felt/feel about the finale.
And gwiz, what the frak is that, equating Lost and BSG?... You are dead to me.

I read this on EW.com, and it does a good job of explaining why I disliked Kara's exit so vehemently:
"For all of its religious overtones and prophetical trappings, Battlestar Galactica has been a show rooted in the real. It was defined by a very real holocaust and the harsh realities of a world lost, of shattered hope, that gave the show its shape. For characters to die, and come back from the dead, and vanish into thin air...feels like a betrayal of that fundamental premise. Is she an angel, as Baltar would claim? A collective figment of everyone's imagination? I know that Ron Moore has said that Kara is whatever we want her to be. I want her to make sense. (And who, exactly, was Kara the Harbinger of Death for? The Cylons? Not for the humans, clearly.)"
