I wish all support for Israel was dropped by the US. If private citizens want to fund Israel's defense, then go ahead. But they should be required to publically declare any support they have for Israel so that any terrorists can specifically target them, and not blast us in their collateral damage causing attacks. Right now Americans are being threatened by people such as Al Qaeda forces because the whole of the American country is defending this minority faction of Americans who are die-hard Israel supporters.

Why do we all need to protect these pro-Israel people??? Let them fend for themselves. That's their belief system when it comes to everything in the world. Everyone must be self-reliant, free market, and so forth. But when it comes to defending Israel, they want all 300 million Americans to support it, and will take our tax money to do it. They are hypocrites!

America's "poor" are the wealthiest poor in the world. Most own their own homes, have two cars, air-conditioning, 2 computers, 3 TVs, etc. And that's on top of "free" food and health care.
I'm not so cavalier as to believe losing 60 billion dollars EVERY YEAR to fraud, waste and abuse means nothing, but it really highlights the liberal mindset. When you're taking someone else's money at gunpoint, you really don't care how hard they had to work to earn it.

What's your point QM? As others have already said. Proving that there is fraud does nothing other than show that things need to be improved. But that's not what you want to do, you want to slash the budget. Slashing budgets doesn't fix fraud...fixing fraud fixes fraud. Pretty basic concept there. It's really quite disappointing. Conservatives cry all the time about how they want efficient government...but they have some pretty inefficient ways to do it.

As to your second link, nice try, but The Heritage Foundation is an obviously conservative movement and thus, obviously biased. But let's go simpler than that. And again, I work in State Gov't and contrary to your marching orders from Fox News, we don't make a whole hell of a lot. So if, according to THF, I'm apparently lower than poor, but wait, I'm doing better than most of my peers, so they have to be even lower than the lowest of the poor...so again, either THF is incompetent, or much more likely, since THF is clearly a conservative, thus biased, organization, they are either exaggerating, or outright lying.

We don't have months. That argument doesn't fly. Your options are to use "enhanced interrogation" to get the information out of him or say goodbye to your family. Waterboarding him isn't a guaranty, but it'll give you a chance at saving your family.

I agree with him that the surge was overrated, but I think there were other factors in addition to the ethnic cleansing that contributed to the declining violence (walling off sections of Baghdad and establishing hard checkpoints, clever use of Predator surveillance, etc.)

Still, the strategy of the surge itself is sound for securing a relatively small area like a city but it's absolutely ludicrous to try to attempt it on a country-wide scale as McCain seems to be suggesting. The number of troops required to do that would probably exceed the population of the U.S.

The reporter is absolutely right about Pakistan, and I like his analogy. We could turn Afghanistan into paradise, but the foothills of the Afghan/Pakistan border are turning out to be the new terrorist training center and there doesn't seem to be anything the current Pakistan government can do to stop it.
