Call your senators

Call your senators and ask them to introduce a senate resolution officially apologizing for the CIA's 1953 overthrow of Mossadeq.

That's probably the easiest thing they can do right now to prevent terrorism.

That operation was wrong and indefensible.

I wish any of our politicians would have the testicular fortitude to make a move like that, but unfortunately in the climate cultivated by the current administration I think it would be considered political suicide.

I don't think it would have much of an impact right now anyway. Extremists want to lash out against the US because of its heavy handed policies in the Middle East, occupation of what they consider their sovereign holy lands, and our current involvements in the region which are causing tens of thousands of civilian casualties all in the name of imperialist expansion of power. Plus, apologizing for Mossadeq while the current administration continues to try and leverage the 9/11 hysteria and propagandize their position against Iran in preparations for a military invasion? It would be laughable to the Iranians.

What we need to do if we really value our security, and most importantly our economic health and stability at home, is start phased withdrawals and begin pulling our forces out of all Arab nations. The Iraqi government currently has a 300 billion dollar budget surplus while we bleed our country's wealth dry paying for things which they, by all rights, should be in charge of now. Let them sink or swim by rising to the occasion or collapsing under the weight of their own corruption, but we have done what we said we invaded for: the removal of Saddam Hussein.

Arabs see America as being arrogant who cannot even say sorry for the actions it committed in the past. It won't because when did you ever hear an American politician say sorry for anything he didn't get caught red handed with?

They should end their support of Israel with regards to Palestine. That would be a huge step more so then the CIA overthrow of Mossadeq.
