I can't tell you how many people have asked about the Vote for Barr sign in my yard. I wish the American public (generally speaking) would take it upon themselves to actually think and look at candidates instead of voting based on who's commercials looked better. Barr in 08!

He makes me uncomfortable. He was an ardent social conservative neocon 6 months ago, and now has done a 180 on most of his social stances in order to get the Lib nomination. A vote for a 3rd-party candidate is a wasted vote, but I can understand the sentiment behind it. However, voting for "the lesser of two evils" is not necessarily a bad thing. If McCain was running against the reincarnation of Hitler, you'd better believe I'd vote McCain. Voting for Barr would give Hitler a better chance of winning.*

*The above example is grossly exaggerated, but its primary purpose is to prove a point.

I disagree. I don't think a third party vote is a waste. I think it shows future politicians where some voters stand. In this election year in particular pollsters are trying to find every swing voter they can. And 3rd parties is a good way for annalists to see what the underdog has going for him that the red and blue don't. Besides I can't in good conscience vote for McCain or Obama, And I'd rater give my vote to someone who I feel well do the best job in the position, regardless of the overwhelming number of voters who only see two parties.
