turtle heart keeps on beating

Apparently, a turtles heart can continue to pump up to 30 min even after being removed from the body! special pacemaker cells keep the heart going when it loses a signal from the brain, it has its own supply of energy cells to keep it going.

Fish, other reptiles and some birds have this ability too.
