bamdrewsays...hah, what a cock sucker.
historians note that the pledge of allegiance was a marketing idea for a popular kids magazine that wanted to sell flags to schools, ... and 'under God' was tacked on in the 50's, to rub how much religion effects US politics in our collective faces. Christmas has been basicly divorced from Christianity since at least the 70's, and is the ultimate consumerist holiday... I recall the teachings of this guy named Jesus; he wasn't soo hot on material things.
"can't you be passionate without being angry" what an ass! ... and I doubt a man from a family of lawyers "paid his way" through Harvard.
mlxsays...love the laugh track. Heh.
theo47says...I love the right wing's reverse snobbery -- we're the patriotic ones, we're the moral ones, we're the real Americans.
I define "elite" as someone with a lot of money and/or power and/or exposure - and quite frankly, that's a very Republican club.
quantumushroomsays...Even as you mock him, you watch him. You're bound to learn a thing or two betweeen sneers.
No one can attack leftist values because no one knows what any of them are beyond higher taxes and surrendering.
bamdrewsays...i have never seen his show. he's always on other shows promoting his show and his books.
detlev409says..."historians note that the pledge of allegiance was a marketing idea for a popular kids magazine that wanted to sell flags to schools"
Please cite your source. If true, I would really like to read up on this.
And quantumushroom, just hush. People like you are a blight on traditional conservativism. Take your O'Reillys and your Cheneys and your Roves and the rest of your ilk and get your own party. Let me and the true conservatives have ours back.
Sorry, feeling snippy tonight.
theo47says...*sniff*
I'm a yellow dog liberal, and I feel like giving detlev a big ol' hug.
Conservatives I have no problem with; I even agree with them on a few things.
Whatever this generation of religio-corrupt-spendy conservatives call themselves, however, are certainly a blight on the philosophy and the country.
quantumushroomsays...The age of Dems like JFK (low taxes, strong national defense) are long over.
Indeed, most of the Republicans presently in office are milksop RINOs like McCain.
But they're still far better than the moonbats that have taken over the Ds.
Communist party spokespeople are more honest about that they stand for than today's liberals.
PS. There aren't enough "traditional" conservatives left to be elected dog catcher of Pahrump. Blight. This.
broccolisays...BO: "I back it up with facts" [hahahahahahahaha]
nice use of the laugh track
Interesting comment bamdrew... and you're correct, the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a socialist (shock horror!) for a magazine which sold flags to schools:
