Zelda (NES) 'beaten' in 3 minutes, 8 seconds - AGDQ2016

I discovered these guys last year during their summer fundraiser (where this video is from). Games Done Quick is an organization of speedrunners of classic (and modern) games. It is the *pinnacle* of nerd-joy. If you know of "Quake Done Quick", this will be familiar.

The fundraiser is for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The "runners" are people in the speed-run community who compete to beat specific games as quickly as possible. They dump huge amounts of time into exploiting classic games in the most ridiculous ways, and measure their 'strategies' and times on a per-frame basis.

There are different categories of running: some are done without exploiting any glitches (i.e. the 'normal' way), while one this afternoon had a guy play through the Turbo Tunnel section of Battletoads, blindfolded. (I'll let you google it to see if he made it or not).

At the time of this posting they're in the middle of the 2016 fundraiser, which streams 24 hours for the rest of the week. I highly suggest any gaming enthusiasts check it out immediately.
