You've always wanted to see a dam get blown up...

This had the same fascination for me as watching the water go down the drain in the bathtub---On a bigger scale. I think I think though the rush water would tear the concrete away (Hollywood? Too many late night viewings of "Dambusters?")---and it's almost more interesting what actually happened.

This was in 2011, on the White Salmon River in Washington State. The dam, while still producing power, could not economically be brought into compliance with a salmon ladder to allow the continued upstream spawning runs of the fish---so they blew it down.
