choggiesays...dogs see humans as dependable chicken legs drippin' with bbq sauce
KamikazeCricketsays...dogs see humans as a member of the pack, a friendly, a neutral, or an enemy. The priority of any of these may differ depending on dog breed, and upbringing. All dogs have the capacity to very quickly adopt a non-dog animal into his pack and consider it an equal or even superior, depending on circumstances.
Most dogs are bred to respond well to humans and there is about 20,000 years of co-evolution and artificial selection at work to instill this behavior in dogs.
However most humans are not trained to respond well, if at all, to dogs. That is the distinction that people need to realize.
Dogs are wonderful. Don't hate on dogs because you don't know how to handle them.
