Trump's Immigration Order Will Affect Green Card Holders

U.S. green card holders from Syria and six other Muslim-majority countries traveling outside the United States, have to now check with a U.S. consulate to see if they can return. These restrictions come after President Donald Trump signed a new executive order on immigrants and refugees. An official said legal permanent residents who have passports from the seven countries have to be cleared back into the United States on a case-by-case basis. Confusion was widespread at airports as immigration and customs officials struggled to interpret the new rules. Some legal residents who were in the air when the order was issued were detained at airports upon arrival.
