Joe's 14, and all around him his friends are going crazy: getting crushes, flirting, asking people out, having their hearts broken. Joe wants no part of it—the acting stupid, the pain—so he's opting out. He's never going to fall in love. (From Youtube)

This is from Season 1 Episode 2 of This American Life, the television version, on Showtime. I highly recommend getting your hands on this episode. It's amazing to see the conviction this kid has in denouncing love, the colorful ways he portrays it ("...like a drug", "(Sex is) like pillaging a town") and then a message into the camera for his future self in 10 years. He'd hate me for saying it, but I know what it's like and he'll grow out of it. :P
