"Bowing to tradition, WitmerLab members cook up a not-so traditional Thanksgiving Day turkey. Tom (male) turkeys have a fleshy facial appendage called a snood that becomes engorged with blood, erect, and bright red when trying to impress the hens (females) or displaying to other males.
