Russian KA-52 attack helicopter assult and emergency landing

Video footage reportedly released by the Russian MoD shows a Russian KA-52 attack helicopter conducting a low flying combat sortie at Hostomel Airport on February 24th.

The video shows the helicopter engaging assumed Ukrainian infantry positions while evading a number of incoming MANPADS before bein hit by one of them and having to conduct a emergency landing in a nearby field.

The helicopter was providing close air support for the Russian landing forces and coverred a MI-8 transport helicopter loaded with Russian paratroopers.

Another video released from that day that showed a group of Russian paratroopers assulting the airport could have been from the same mission.

The Russian MoD reported that the crew dismounted the helicopter after the emergency landing and got in to defensive positions to wait for evacuation by another Russian helicopter strike group on the way to the airport.

Another video filmed by Ukrainian forces later shows a downed crash landed KA-52 helicopter in a location with similiar vegetation.

In the video the damage the helicopter took can be visible pretty well but it is not clear if all the damage was from anti-air fire or if shelling of the area later added to the damage.

Also we have not been able to confirm if it is indeed the same helicopter like in the video.
