Sigh. Of all of the things upon which he could have taken a principled stand, he picked the one that'll cost him the election. Why couldn't it have been a stand against censorship, or Gitmo, or spying, or the banks?

I guess it's probably because he can't actually do anything to promote gay marriage, so it's safe to come out in favor of it, while all of the other things would actually make him do work.
