"Our Guys Should Talk"

Following a debate during Thursday's Democratic candidates forum at the NAACP convention, news agency microphones picked up comments by Sens. Hillary Clinton and John Edwards as they discussed limiting future debates to only "serious" candidates.

"We should try to have a more serious and smaller group," Edwards, a former U.S. senator from North Carolina, was heard saying as his comments were picked up by a Fox News microphone.

Agreeing, Clinton, D-N.Y., responded, "We've got to cut the number . . . They're not serious."

At that point, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio walked by, with Clinton thanking them for attending. The, turning back to Edwards, she said she believed their campaigns had already attempted to limit candidates in the debate and "we've gotta get back to that."

Kucinich did not respond well to the comments. "Imperial candidates are as repugnant to the American people and to our democracy as an imperial president," he said. [via]

"Vote independent guys. Our only hope unless you want more of the same."

3 words: Nader & Bush.

If you vote independent, you'll get alot more of the same. It may blow goats, but that's the way it is.

Thanks for posting this. I did see it and wondered if it would make it here. Conspicuously silent will be all the lefties that see a Bush conspiracy everywhere. Where is their ideology now? Well they can shove that "I'm better than you", smug attitude from now on; their true colors show.

On the other hand, it's always fun to watch the demoncrats eat their own...very entertaining.

As long as we remain with the current electoral college system and two-party political system, there will never be a 3rd party candidate in serious contention for the presidency.

One of the most successful ways of breaking out of the two-party system is to implement an instant-runoff voting system, such that no one's vote is "wasted" on a 3rd party candidate.
