Why and for what, or for whom rather, should I have respect? I don't think he is right either, if he means to say that soldiers automatically deserve one's unthinking admiration and unqualified respect. My view is that soldiers are unfortunate dupes mainly; many are adventure-seekers, and most are victims of both the positively relentless US-model propaganda narrative, and, quite often, also victims of unjust economic circumstance.

Maybe it's time you and others begin to have the courage to practice critical thinking and ask some difficult questions.

I make no apologies for my views. (Nor do I buy the "few bad apples" theory.)
