Morris Dance Funk

I just saw a bunch of guys doing this on my street at 10 p.m. I recorded a video of it too but to avoid self-linking I looked up to see what other people have found, and here you go - Morris Dance with the audio swapped out for funk by the recorded, as his original capture of the English folk music - very heavy on the hand-organ - didn't come out too well.

This is some obscure kind of awesome.

This'll either do really well or be ignored completely, depending on the whims of the sift today.

Bonus: the YT comment "Some traditions are worth holding onto; others, like systematic genocide and morris dancing are not things we should be proud of. England has enough cultural splendour. No one would stop anyone from practicing it, we just don't care, it looks lame and I'd rather funk out."

To this I say, seeing a random group of old guys doing this with the Santa beards, red hats, and bells on their shins is bizarre and amusing.

The funk is simply amusing.
