Grimmsays...Unfortunately no one in the dem or rep debate had the balls to acknowledge that the government takes in BILLIONS more then the oil companies make in profits. Here in CA if I pay $3.50 a gallon 64.5 cents of that is state and federal tax. Oil companies make nowhere near that in profit per gallon.
qruelsays...Grimm, while I'd like to believe you, can you please offer up some reading to back it up those claims
Ravenisays...http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/statistics/gas_taxes_by_state_2002.html says it was 50.4 cents in 2002. That's not including recent changes or local taxes.
