Bashir seems to think that everything in reality is a this or that, yes or no, simple enough for a soundbite kind of thing. That level of shallow, oppositional thinking is much of what is wrong with the world today. Props to Mr. Bell for not bowing to that inanity.

What Bashir is doing is in fact a rhetorical device aimed at giving this "pastor" an opportunity to take a stand on the issues, rather than skirt around them, as Bell clearly does throughout the interview.

Bashir asks some good questions, but never gives the guy a chance to respond. Bashir is clearly the wrong type of interviewer for such a nuanced subject. He talks to the pastor like he would Dog the Bounty Hunter. Also he has a short attention span.

I am gonna agree with this. Bashir is asking some very pointed questions and Bell is carefully not answering them.

I would get frustrated too.
