"Lynching is not a word to be used in jest"

Back in February Bill O'Reilly made a "joke" about lynching Michelle Obama. Olbermann takes him to task for it. But hey, O'Reilly was just joking, so that makes it okay, right?

"Lynching" in itself is not an evil word. The way BillO used it, is with intent, because of the "unless". A real lynch mob is always bad, but I think you can make references to a mob, a lynchmob or lynching in jest. I mention this word, and other even worse words, in jest and I'm just trying to be funny. If you censor this word, there are many other words you have to censor as well. If there is no intent to harm in the use, I have no real problem with it.

Obviously there is such a thing as tact, but this is the internet, you have to be prepared for lowbrow humor at, basically, anyones expense. Standup comedians thrive on things that some people think, and take that to extremes. This is what most people do when we make fun.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this, my brain is just basically jacking off.

Short version: The use of lynching in the above video is bad, use of the word lynching in itself not bad.

This clip blew me away. And it's not even because of what BillO said - well, okay, it is, but not in the immediate sense.

My bunny rabbit was out on the carpet right beside me, doing her thing, when I played this clip. Now, I should mention that she really appreciates music. Really. There's been times when we've not listened to it at home for a couple of days and she's gone all sour. Then we've played some music for a couple of hours and she's become real easy again.

But now, when I got to BillO's part, some 5 seconds in-my rabbit starts stomping her feet on the ground (rabbit owners know this is a display of strong dislike, even anger at something; non-rabbit owners - you know now).
"Holy crap!" I thought, "Even my lionhead sees/hears Bill for the douche he is."
